Boeing (BA) Stock Moves Higher at the Open After New Safety Directives
By: Schaeffer's Investment Research | March 10, 2022
• The blue-chip name is now expected to outline how it will meet these directives
• Year-over-year, BA is still down more than 26%
Boeing Co (NYSE:BA) was last seen up 1.1% to trade at $180.51, after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) noted it is finalizing three safety directives for grounded Boeing 777 planes with Pratt & Whitney 4000 engines, following fan blade failures. The blue-chip name is now expected to outline the steps it will take to meet these directives, so the planes can return to service.
The last time we checked on Boeing stock, options bears were blasting the equity on a quarterly earnings and revenue miss. The security has been particularly volatile over the past year, with shares hitting their lowest level since November 2020 just two days ago, while the 200-day moving average has been thwarting rallies since August. Year-over-year, BA is down 26.3%.
Analysts are bullish towards the stock, with nine of the 11 in question calling it a "buy" or better, while two say "hold." In addition, the 12-month consensus target price of $255.88 is a 41.8% premium to current levels.
At the International Securities Exchange (ISE), Cboe Options Exchange (CBOE), and NASDAQ OMX PHLX (PHLX), Boeing stock has a 50-day put/call volume ratio of 0.45 that sits higher than 92% of readings from the past year. So, while calls outnumbered puts on an overall basis, the latter have been picked up at a much quicker-than-usual clip over the last 10 weeks.

Boeing suspends buying titanium from Russia, assures of 'sufficient supply'
By: Reuters | March 7, 2022
Boeing Co said on Monday it has suspended buying titanium from Russia, a move that could have ramifications for the planemaker's relationship with its largest supplier of the commodity, VSMPO-Avisma.
"Our inventory and diversity of titanium sources provide sufficient supply for airplane production," the planemaker said in an emailed statement.
The potential for disruptions to Russian commodity supplies, following the country's invasion of Ukraine, has thrown a spotlight on the metal used in the aerospace, marine and auto industries.
Boeing (NYSE:BA)'s European rival Airbus did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the status of its titanium supplies.
VSMPO-Avisma in a statement said it "regrets" the suspension of contracts with long-term partners.
"We have been monitoring the situation in our country and worldwide, and we were prepared for this outcome."
There are, however, no sanctions yet on the Russian supplier, which is owned 25% by state conglomerate Rostec.
The titanium supplier is now reorienting its sales policy to other markets, according to its statement.
Boeing said last month it was not concerned about the potential supply disruptions as it had diversified its titanium supply chain since 2014, when Russia was sanctioned for its annexation of Crimea from Ukraine.

Not likely but it’s better to pay taxes on gains than watch it Collapse. Good for BA.
dividenders are shortsighted imo
buy @ $179, hold @ $230 in several weeks, that's the equivalent of 9.5% dividend yield for the next 3 years
"Exclusive-Boeing aims to nearly double 737 MAX production by end-2023 -sources"
"SEATTLE/PARIS (Reuters) - Boeing Co has preliminary plans to boost production of its cash cow 737-family narrowbody to around 47 per month by the end of next year, as the U.S. planemaker looks to extend its recovery from successive crises, two people familiar with the matter said.
After slashing production due mainly to the pandemic, Boeing and European rival Airbus SE are seeing more demand for their medium-haul passenger jets, with both planemakers adding eye-catching deals to their order books in recent weeks."

IHUB makes more sense when you realize it's 98% about crapshooting, not sensible investing or wealth creation.
I'll add that I'm likely the wealthiest person to have ever exchanged ideas with you.
One other thing, I'm still considering adding to my BA holding.
Thanks! I am taking this into consideration now.. diversification.

Mostly I let the divs pile up in my brokerage accounts and occasionally invest in something new. One problem with auto reinvest is some holdings may grow enormously over decades. That's hardly the worst thing, of course. But I think diversification is important, too. I currently own about 18 individual stocks, and a bunch of other investments.
So what do you do with them? Let cash pile up and reinvest when ready or allocate the cash elsewhere?
No, I don't automatically reinvest my individual stock or index fund dividends. My two old conventional mutual funds have automatically reinvested for decades.
Which is best? There are arguments both ways.
Are your dividends all sllocated to a reinvest plan?
Lack of dividend is hurting BA shares. Everything I see suggests div payers are generally far outperforming non-payers in 2022. That also supports my personal long-held rule of only buying stocks that pay dividends (BRK excepted).
BA top management has turned over almost 100% since the two crashes.
Sh*t management but BA will never run out of planes and things to build
After my ~20 years of BA ownership I'd have a ton of capital gains tax to pay if I sold.
Enjoying watching the faithful ride out the collapse of BA. They're one crash away from total relegation to useless.
Boeing is again giving employees modest pay raises and yearend bonuses (for 2021). Wages had been frozen company-wide for the past two years due to their financial difficulties. Next step in recovery will be resumption of dividends, but that's surely a long way off.
181.31 that’s what I call an overreaction! This will close at 184+ for sure!
This looks like a good buy at this point.
But it is hard to pull the trigger, considering this market atmosphere!
52 weeks low coming ready for my bids!
Boeing to 'strictly adhere' to restrictions on operating in Russia -CEO
By: Reuters | March 3, 2022
• Boeing (NYSE:BA) Co will strictly adhere to the export controls and restrictions that have been announced governing work in Russia, the U.S. airplane manufacturer's Chief Executive said on Thursday.
Chicago-based Boeing said earlier this week it was suspending parts, maintenance and technical support for Russian airlines as the effect of sanctions in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine ripple across the global aviation industry.
Boeing has also suspended major operations in Moscow and temporarily closed its office in Kyiv.
"Moving forward, Boeing will continue to follow the lead of the U.S. government and strictly adhere to the export controls and restrictions that have been announced governing work in Russia," Boeing Chief Executive Dave Calhoun told employees in a memo seen by Reuters.
Boeing also said it will provide a $2 million emergency assistance package to support humanitarian response efforts in Ukraine.
Boeing's donation includes $1 million to CARE to assist with food, water and hygiene kit distribution and $500,000 to American Red Cross.

BA up forward I feel opportunity knocking at our door.
Charts are out the window in a market like this.
Hard to chart when the market is up 500~600 points one day and down 500~600 points the next.
BA has become predictable. Look at the daily chart. Can't get past the 200-day MA and sustain it. Has served as resistance going back to August. Now shares in danger of dropping below the 400-day.
On the weekly chart, even clearer. Can't break above the downtrend line in place since early 2019.
BA is golden. Putts and shorts Will lose all their profits Monday Am. Can’t wait to see Green all week. Shorts have 10 minutes to close but Putts are going to be surprise to see there profits all gone as Calls are placed Monday !!! BA is undervalued.
What an incredible drop in a couple hrs. When the market goes bad, BA goes worse. Just wow.
$BA the only defense contractor that I can see is down today, all the others are up, some of the big.
Like a trade in deal for new contracts. Amazing. Yes correct. And they add billions again lol.
Feb 10 2022. U.S. said to approve $14B sale of Boeing new F-15 jets to Indonesia https://seekingalpha.com/news/3798869-us-said-to-approve-14b-sale-of-boeing-new-f-15-jets-to-indonesia
Amazing rite. There’s other contracts we also received. One of them was for UK Defense Boeing. Thing s are looking good. Lots money poring in. The Awarded UK Armed Forces Logistics Contract. They say
This new contract will ensure all single services have access to a single technology-enabled system to support essential inventory services

NEW 100 plane 737 MAX order??? Link please? I find nothing new, today or yesterday.
Boeing announced that 100 737 MAX Jets are to be purchased by Allegiant. This comes following a $20 billion order for the new 777X freighter, which Boeing announced at a meeting at the White House on Monday. Feb 7 2022
Watching Boeing's cohorts outpacing the broad market for some time now. My Raytheon just hit another all-time high, $96. GD and Lockheed are very strong too.
Boeing's big problem now is lack of air travelers.
Boeing's military planes have proven over the years to be safe... even at 1,800+ mph.
BOEING @220 Tactical Environment. War and Business is Great. Continue Bullish sediment.
