Multitudes of people who expect to go to Heaven will go to a Hell of torment. Millions of "good" people, "moral" people, church members, even church workers - yes, and, alas, even prophets, priests and preachers - will find themselves lost when they expected to be saved, condemned when they expected approval, cast out of Heaven when they expected to be received into eternal bliss. That is the explicit meaning of the words of our Lord...“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’...Matthew 7:21-23

Don't say that a loving God is going to send you to hell - He's not. The thing that's going to send you to hell is that you're a sinner and you don't want to admit it.

Glad i could be of help...NOW...get both hands on the wheel and focus on what your doing....wink!!!!!
excellent----I sometimes wonder if my thorn is not plural. "THORNS"-----today being one of those days, but I woke up this side of the green so that was something to be thankful for & I thanked God for this another day which was given to me-------that being said I woke up with an attitude that I have not had in years....a thorn in my side and a day of testing for me, I know not......sure hope the Holy Spirit is real close by, think I am gonna need Him-----LOL
What’s Your Thorn in the Flesh?
“Therefore, so that I would not exalt myself, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to torment me so I would not exalt myself. Concerning this, I pleaded with the Lord three times to take it away from me. But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” ~ 2 Corinthians 12:7-9
The passage above describes a "messenger of Satan" that the Apostle Paul was dealing with. Most Bible scholars understand this to be a physical ailment – but, could it not as easily been a pesky sin that would occasionally rear its ugly head? As a born-again believer, I believe that we all have experienced those times when we are on a peak of our walk with Christ, when all of a sudden, BAM! the “messenger of Satan” – that pesky sin that we can’t seem to shake off no matter how much we plead with the Lord to remove it – rears its ugly head – and there we are: feeling weak, ashamed, defeated and downright unworthy of being called a child of God.
I believe that the Holy Spirit prevented Paul from telling us what his “thorn in the flesh” to be because the Lord knows full well that all of His followers will experience a thorn in our flesh as long as we are alive in this fallen world; whether it be a physical ailment, other certain person(s) or types of persons, sin, etc.
The good news is that the Lord’s grace is sufficient for all that we are going through – we just need to continually ask and receive it.

You made our day and gave my bride a new saying----"you PTSD from your old days is kicking in"-----BY the way you are suppose to be on my side. She loved your analysis-----
Very interesting, I can not disagree one bit....Now this is just my "opinion", I think if I were addressing a group of Christians concerning their daily short comings (sins) I would think maybe on bringing in Paul"s teachings also concerning "SALVATION":
1---When a Christian accepts Jesus Christ as their personal Savior they are saved from all their past sins
no matter how bad those sins may be ( I always think of the dude on the Cross next to Jesus)
2---A Christian is being saved from the habit and dominion of sin in their lives--(daily sins)
3---A Christian will be saved at the Lord's return, from the bodily infirmities that are the result of
sin and God's curse upon a sinful world.----Salvation is by grace and is a free gift from God
and always remember it is totally 100% "without works". God's order is 1st Salvation then works.
I am in no way finding fault with this post, it is very, very true.....I just (here again my opinion) just think along with this man's message it is
very important to explain Salvation. For a non-believer or a real struggling Christian, it is important to have the clear understanding that
accepting Christ into one's heart as their Savior, saves them from all past sins---daily sins---and their eternity is secure in Jesus Christ.
Like I said many times, I love this board for this reason, we can discuss, we get our minds in gear and think on God's Word....makes us come alive in Christ
I was a loyal follower of satan at one time, so I suppose maybe a lot of my thinking (opinion) come from. I understand the sinner very well from my past life.
God Bless and listen to the Holy Spirit, God sent Him into the world to walk along beside us to help out
So totally and completely true. As believers when we get our mind focused on God and i reckon more importantly our heart. And we understand and actually embrace the fact that all that is going on around us....and to us...in some way...sovereign God is behind it all fulfilling His perfect plan and purpose in our lives. Yes...the good and the bad and the ugly...either God has sent it...He has allowed it or has given satan permission to sift us to a point. And with that said what scripture comes to my mind that all us believers like to quote....."i can do all things thru Jesus who gives me strength". Everything and i mean everything that crosses my path...that happens to me...that is going on around me...i have learned thru Gods sanctification process of me these past 28 years of being born-again....God is in complete control of everything...all the time...ALWAYS! That is where i get my peace and joy and contentment regarding all things. Now let me say....im just a regular guy...nothing special about me....but there came a time in my life a few years ago when i finally got it...the whole God is sovereign thing and oh what a blessing it is to understand and believe that God is God yesterday today and forever! I mean...even to the point as screwed up as the world and United States is...i know that right where we are right now....according to my Bible and the prophesy of that Bible....this is the way it is suppose to be leading to the Rapture...Tribulation...Millennium and End Times and the news flash is...it aint gonna get no better because Gods will is happening just as He had planned it even before the foundation of the world calling lost souls to Him to make that decision to follow Jesus and enjoy heaven for all eternity or to continue to follow satan and live in torment for all eternity. So my long winded point....just as this commentary i am replying to....embrace the Fact that God is in control and trust Him in all things knowing that thru all things He is molding us into the likeness of Jesus....and...as another scripture tells us.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28
In todays world...we have no telling how many thousands of self-help books. The TV has talk shows that tell people how to help and provide for themselves. We even have...unfortunately... preachers that preach the health..wealth and prosperity message on how to look within and get what we want. There is water cooler talk..social media talk...the news media...all expressing peoples thoughts, opinions and beliefs as to what is right and what is wrong...how to get ahead and how to be self-sufficient. And in amongst all this...there is no shortage of argument and debate about these topics and everyone has their own opinion and most can give a list of reasons as to why they are right and to why you are wrong...and...stand behind those reasons without blinking a eye. We also have psychiatrist...counselors and social workers to talk and explore and tell us what and why we need to do and not do things and how to better equip ourselves for living life...and dont get me wrong...i know there can be much value in these medical type people. Yet...in the mean time the world and the United States continues to "go to hell in a hand basket"! So lets make this easy. God created the heavens and the earth and every living thing on it...and of course...every single person that has ever been conceived in a womans womb. God gives every person the air they breath...the food they eat...the water they drink. Ultimately...by Gods mercy and grace He provides and sustains us every heartbeat of everyday...and...God is very much still in the prayer answering and miracle giving business and heals people of all sorts of physical...mental and emotional sicknesses each and everyday! He offers hope and peace and joy and contentment for our heart...mind and soul. And...God...when you get to the bottom line of life...has given us everything we have even though we often like to think our hard work has done much of it. So...whats my long winded point? A personal relationship with Jesus...faith even if as little as a mustard seed...praying without ceasing and meditating on Gods word day and night...remember...the Bible actually is our human owners manual..if you will. That my friends is the recipe for contentment and a happy and productive joy filled life! Do you believe that God is the answer for every circumstance in life?

Does the Bible Say True Christians Never Sin?
Today we dip into the Ask Pastor John podcast inbox:
“Pastor John, my name is Jake from Mexico. What does 1 John 5:18 mean?”
That’s the end of the question. And I’ll go ahead and read the text from the ESV:
“We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but He who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.”
Pastor John what does this text mean?
I am not sure what part of this verse Jake is stumbling over. There are three things he could stumble over.
1. “Everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning” — what does that mean?
2. “He who was born of God protects him” — what does that mean?
3. “The evil one does not touch him” — whoa, really? What does that mean?
So, I am not sure which of those three he is stumbling over, so maybe I better say a word about each one.
Habitual Sin:
And what I am thinking is maybe Jake is reading the King James Version or the New American Standard Version of that first clause, because it is even more perplexing. The King James says, “We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not.” That is the King James. The New American Standard says, “We know that no one who is born of God sins.” So, I would join Jake, if I read those, and say, “Huh, really? Christians don’t sin?”
That sounds truly problematical — “Christians never sin.”
I met a woman one time who believed that. She threw 1 John 5:18 and 1 John 3:9 at me. And I asked, “Well, what do you call the bad things you do?” And she had invented a lot of names for her sins, like: mistakes and flaws and shortcomings and imperfections, but she was adamant. I don’t sin.
Tense Help:
Now the ESV is right to translate “we know that everyone who has been born of God” — and then it translates the verb — “does not keep on sinning,” which helps a little bit, maybe. First John 3:9 has the same issue:
“No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God.”
Now I could pull rank with Greek here — which I will — and then I will back up and say that is not the key issue.
The idea of the Greek present tense — “hamartanei" in 1 John 5:18 — which is being used is that those who are born again and have the Spirit of God in them cannot ever make peace with sin, settle in with sin, make sin a friend, be okay with sinning — just go on sinning as though no war needs to be made against it, and nothing will come of it if we do. The present tense says: no, you can’t do that, you can’t make a practice of sinning like that.
Context Clues:
But if you don’t know Greek, you don’t have to trust me at this point, because there are a couple of other reasons why non-Greek readers know that this text does not mean that Christians don’t ever do anything wrong.
First John 5:16, two verses earlier:
“If anyone sees his brother [a Christian] committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life.”
So, he can’t mean that Christians don’t sin, because he just gave instruction for how to help Christians who do sin.
The same thing is true in 1 John 1:8–10:
“If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.”
So, in the meaning of 1 John 5:18, I think here in the context, the first and obvious meaning would be:
The one who is born of God does not sin unto death; that is, we don’t make peace with sin, settle into a pattern of sinning that will destroy us in the end, prove that we are not truly born of God and are not truly Christians. Christians walk in the light, and, according to 1 John 1:8–10, walking in the light is not sinlessness. It is walking in a way that you have eyes to see in the light the ugliness of what you just did, and you are sorry for it. You confess it. You keep short accounts with God, and you move on.
So, I think “does not sin” means (1) doesn’t commit the sin unto death, and (2) doesn’t settle into a pattern of sinning that proves you have no spiritual life in you.
Christ Our Protector:
Second issue: “He who was born of God protects him.” I think that means that Christ — who is called the one born of God, the only begotten of God, the eternally virgin-born Spirit, but born by the Spirit Son of God, Christ — guards us from the devil.
He intercedes for us (Hebrews 7:25), and He is with us to the end of the age helping us, (Matthew 28:20), and His blood covers us (Ephesians 2:13) and keeps us safe from Satan’s accusations because none of them can hold because Christ has died for us.
Safe from Satan:
Third issue: “The evil one does not touch him.” The devil’s accusations and temptations and harassments can hurt us terribly, but they can never destroy us. There is no deadly touch. There is no poisonous bite. His fangs were removed at the cross, and his lethal poison is taken away from believers. He cannot destroy us.
So, I take “cannot touch us” to mean that Satan can’t touch us with any deadly touch. He can hurt us terribly. I don’t want to minimize Satan’s realty in this world. He can throw us in prison and he can move others to kill us, according to Revelation 2:10. But he can’t hurt us ultimately. He can’t touch us with the touch of destruction and damnation. That has been taken out of his hand by the blood of Jesus. Jesus did that when He died on the cross according to Colossians 2:15. He disarmed the principalities and powers when He died and shed His blood.
So, the only begotten of God is, indeed, our perfect and everlasting protector.

a very good one to start off the day----thanks
Trading Spaces
"For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." ~ 2 Corinthians 5:21
Christ traded spaces with us on the cross. He died in our place, for our sin. But if you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins, you only believe one-half of the Gospel. The other half of the Gospel is the fact that Christ fulfilled God's standard perfectly. He was 100% righteous. So, had Christ been 90% righteous or 80% righteous, His sacrifice would not meet God's demands. He was 100% righteous.
So, once you bow the knee to Christ and ask Him to come into your life to take residence, to come into the dwelling place of your heart, then the righteousness of Christ is imputed into your life. Thus, when God sees you, He sees Jesus and His perfect character. This is only able to take place because of the resurrection power.
That's the power that can renovate our minds and hearts today and that will one day completely renovate and restore our sin-torn bodies into glorified bodies that will live forever in heaven. The resurrection is the final hope of every Christ-follower. It is the "final reveal" of God's design and renovation: the perfection of our mind, body, and spirit. On the other side of the grave, when God says, "Okay, open your eyes and see your new space," you will open your eyes in a resurrected, recreated body, a completely new space that you will inhabit for eternity.
It will be the perfect "space"…
…designed by the perfect Designer (God the Father),
…rebuilt by the perfect Carpenter (Jesus Christ) and
…purchased at the ultimate cost (Christ's precious blood).
But you've got to make the choice: Are you going to keep trying on your own to rebuild the rubble left by sin or are you going to let the Carpenter renovate your life into the perfect "space"?

My bride has vertigo and more than I care to speak of scares me because she thinks I am going in the ditch, hitting a mail box, going into the on coming traffic lane, and so forth, now after reading this I see where it is God's fault, He is doing this to me, trying to teach a hard-headed ole man a lesson----Reckon I best come back later and read this a couple more times......Thanks, I needed a bit of humor this morning.
Maybe thais is why I love the Bible Board----"I don't get in trouble for thinking"---LOL
Overlooking Offenses
"A person's wisdom yields patience; it is to one's glory to overlook an offense." ~ Proverbs 19:11
I have a friend who tells a story of a lesson the Lord taught him through his wife. It seems that every time he and his wife would get in the car to travel somewhere, his wife had a strong need to direct his driving. She would tell him where to turn and when to turn, even in their own subdivision. It was such a horrible habit that it drove my friend crazy and became the source of many an argument. Finally, one day my friend concluded that the Lord was trying to teach him something through this experience. He decided he would let go of his need to be free from this correction. He began to affirm his wife and even thank her for her input. It was excruciatingly painful to do this from where he sat.
A few months passed. He let go of the entire situation and actually got to a place where it just didn't matter to him anymore. An interesting thing happened a few months later. One day his wife looked at him and said, "John, I just realized that I have been directing your driving all these years and now realize why I do that. It goes back to my childhood when I had to direct my younger brothers and sisters. I am so sorry I have been doing that."
My friend nearly fell out of his seat!
Whenever we work close to another person, whether in an office or home, small offenses can become the source of great conflict. Resentment and irritability soon follow. God brings these "offenses" into our lives to develop character qualities in us. He uses individuals in our lives to accomplish His goal of making us more Christ-like.
So, the next time you complain or resist a habit or action from someone close to you, ask God if it has been placed there to develop some quality in you. Pride is the root source of the need to change another person. A man's wisdom gives him patience-to let go of little offenses. This is where spiritual maturity is seen in the day-to-day activity of life. Is there someone close to you who has some habit you really want to change? Give up that desire to the Lord. Who knows, He may even change it after you let go of the need to change it.

Good morning Ranb2khz.... I sometimes think...but in reality it just shows or proves how messed up us humans are. After all that the Israelites seen after i think was like 400 years enslaved by the Egyptians...all the plagues that God sent thru Moses to free them....then the parting of the Red sea....after seeing all this....then in their eyes Moses stays up on the mountain to long so they go off the deep end just that fast in sin.
Im about 3 miles from the Nolichucky river here in east tennessee...and...if i was fishing and say someone held a big stick up and parted that river in the name of God...the great I Am........which for the most part is around 3 foot deep and 100 to 200 feet wide....i would like to think that would say fresh on my mind and keep me on the straight and narrow...but...with my flesh and my worst enemy....me....i probably wouldnt?!
Amen and Amen!
Good morning plugger...i totally get what you are saying...your point....as i find myself doing that as well..."breeze by" or over...like especially with scripture...like you said....that we are very familiar with. And what gets me in doing that....we know that God over our lifetime....thru His living and active word...the Bible....can speak to us in any number of ways thru the years from the same passage....depending on what is going on in our life. Yet...knowing that i sometimes read thru that certain passage...lets say like Psalms 23 to make a point... and probably missing something very important God is wanting me to hear....one of those aha moments. Its like sometimes when you hear John MacArthur... Adrian Rogers...Charles Stanley...say....they noticed something in the word that they never noticed before....well....im pretty sure those guys have see it many many times just never in the light they are about to talk about.....so....i guess we all would benefit to slow down....word by word and listen to the Holy Spirit reveal what we most need that day! As we say about a lot of things....its really about quality...NOT quantity and especially when reading Gods word.
This morning i was sitting and thinking about my life and in that i was thinking about the word..."success". Now im sure we have all heard a couple earthly phrases...“The one who dies with the most toys wins”...and..."You cant take it with you". So this morning i wonder in many peoples hearts what the definition of success is as we watch this brass ring driven world we are living in. So what is success? Having our dreams come true? Getting all we want? Earning enough money so that we never have to work again? Having the best and most of everything? Is that success? Now im not saying that these things are necessarily bad..its all in how you handle it and how much it consumes you and whether or not it has become an idol in ones life. Remember...scripture tells us..."For the love of money is the root of all evil". However...my view of success is this...And I say this without hesitation or regret. Success is the progressive realization of the will of God for ones life. Thats what success is. Its not how much money you have. Its not how famous you are. Its not how healthy you are. Its not how many friends you have or how many toys you have acquired. Success is nothing more...nothing less...than the progressive realization of the will of God for your life. What was Jesus saying when He said we are not to store up treasures on earth but to store them in heaven? Im thinking as born-again believers our treasure is Jesus and when we commit our resources...our money...our time...our talents...to His work in this world...we have obtained success. Jesus said "I came that they may have life and have it abundantly"...and what does that mean...i think it means not more stuff...but something far better...peace...joy and contentment thru Jesus...thats life more abundant! Remember...anything...ANYTHING...that we put above God..im serious...better think about it...is an idol!...and we know what God said about idols....

How about a little food for thought this morning,--In Luke's writing the Gospel according to Luke and The acts of the Apostles, he addressed them to Theophilus----So who is Theophilus? Many think a person, may be, then again Theophilus also means "a friend of God"----So as I read Luke or Acts I think that they were written for me....."a friend of God". For me it makes reading these Bible Books a little more personal, sort of like a letter written to me or a group of Christian folks I may be gathered with........Just something for you to think on.
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:19-21

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving”

Well said---God Bless and have a really good day
This word from In Touch stands in agreement with your shared message:
Remembering Forward
~ Take time to recall stories of God's faithfulness and share them with the people in your life.
Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 29:1-29
Today we read about Moses gathering the people together so the entire nation could enter into a covenant with God. But he didn’t begin the way we might expect — with details of the oath, what the people must do, what the Lord would do, or the consequences of faithfulness or unfaithfulness. Instead, Moses began by reminding the people of all that God had already done.
Oh, the things they had seen with their own eyes! The things they had touched with their hands and tasted with their lips! God had entered their lives in tangible, unmistakable ways, and because of these experiences and memories, they knew “the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law” (v. 29).
Today, it’s still true that we gain confidence in God and trust for the future when we remember what He has already done in our life. But holding tightly to these memories can be harder than it sounds.
• What are the stories of your faith and your family?
• How and when has God met you, led you, fed you?
Let’s find ways to tell these stories…

Thank you plugger for sharing the “Good News” with us! We all need to be reminded that it is our daily walk with the Lord that demonstrates to others that we have been effected by the “Good News” of Christ, and, in the hopes that those that do not have a personal relationship with the Lord will desire to experience the joy of His salvation as well. God bless, and do have a good week!

I may be in this boat all by myself, but often I just breeze across words in Scripture, I know what they are, I know the meaning & I know why God has passed it on, yet, often I do not let it sink in, like I said I just breeze by. A couple of days ago "The Gospel of Jesus Christ" stood out like a sore thumb----I know what the Gospel is, yet it appears to be one of those things I just breeze over, I read it often in my Scripture studies, but beings I know what the Gospel is, I just sort of breeze by and focus on other things. For the stronger believers here, you might just want to breeze by, but it is my belief or desire that we may have some folks who visit the Bible Board from time, if nothing more than curiosity . Anyway this has been heavy on my mind for 3 days now and I reckon today is my day to share.
Allow me to just cut to the chase and just offer a short, sweet, positive, thought on the Gospel, for a reader who may be in that questioning stage.------The Gospel of Jesus Christ is but only "Good News" and that good news is that God sent His Son into the world to man from his sins. I like to say save man-kind from himself or herself. Jesus came and provided a light for those who choose to see the way in this dark world. It is a choice that each of us must make. Man-kind chose to follow the world way and killed Jesus, actually Jesus gave His life freely for us, then on the 3rd day God raised His Son from the dead and several hundred people witnessed Jesus alive, then Jesus went to heaven and now sits on the right hand of God, God has sent the Holy Spirit into the world to walk along beside us, He is our helper...(I can testify to this, because I experience it, daily).....Now Listen closely, this is a free choice-----You may have great difficulty with grasping this miracle, listen, just take a moment and share your thoughts with God....We all know nothing, we all struggle daily, yet we move on, looking forward to that day when God takes us to heaven...I have been chasing Scripture since 1990--maybe late '80's, not too sure and as you can see here I just keep finding my way
I came across this in my seeking my answer: allow me to share
"The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the best news anyone will ever hear, and what a person does with this
news will determine where he or she will spend eternity. God is calling you to choose life. Call on the
name of the Lord and be saved. (Romans 10:13)
If I may add, my father back years ago told me that 1 Corinthians 15 is the best chapter in the Bible to explain what I have been trying to say
God Bless and may this make one think
Bridge to God’s Promises
~ Faith is the pathway to abundant life in the Lord.
Scripture Reading: Romans 10:14-17
Northern California is home to the Golden Gate Bridge, a famous landmark and marvel of human engineering. Stretching across the strait between San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean, it connects two shores that were once separated and provides safe passage across the expanse.
In our spiritual life, faith can also be seen as a type of bridge — one that links us, who were once far from God, to His promises (Isaiah 59:2). This span is foundational to our relationship with the Lord, offering hope on our journey. And the more we immerse ourselves in God’s Word and absorb His principles, the stronger this bridge of faith becomes. We can depend on it to provide safety as we navigate life’s trials.
As believers, we can find comfort knowing we’re connected to God’s love, grace, and redemption. Through faith, we can walk boldly on the path Jesus has laid out for us, safely traversing chasms of danger and doubt.
Whenever you see a bridge, let it serve as a symbol of how faith unites us with the living God and guides us to abundant life in Him. And keep in mind that a regular intake of Scripture reinforces our “bridge,” adding to its strength and stability.

The Lord Is My Shepherd
Psalm 23:
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely Your goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

well for an ole guy 80 yrs young, cancer & a heart condition----A week ago I had 2 stints put in, anyway I just finished my morning walk, just shy of 2 miles....all in one's attitude & I read it every morning----"Lord, help me to remember that nothing is going to happen to me today that You and I can't handle together."-----Now I seriously believe this, even if it goes as far as my last breath, Me and Jesus got this thing going. It is a great feeling to know that one's faith is strong. God Bless
it is good ( for me anyway) to read post from different folks & I say thanks, I appreciate this more than one can realize, they make me think there-by drawing me need to God. Speaking off the cuff here, but I think it is in James----"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you".
Once again thanks for the post, maybe others will join in.....God Bless
Lord, Show Me My Choices
“Get up, for this matter is your responsibility, and we support you. Be strong and take action!” ~ Ezra 10:4
Even in the most frightening of circumstances, there are still choices available to us.
• What will I say?
• What will I do?
• How will I respond to this tragedy?
Terrible circumstances limit our choices but nothing can completely silence them.
Perhaps we should start praying that God would show us our choices. Pray He would empower our ability to see Him, to choose a perspective in alignment with His, and own the journey He has entrusted us to.
It is tempting to run from our choices. To feel as though the circumstances are so stacked against us that we no longer have any choices.
God calls us to participate in His Kingdom. Seeing the world, our circumstances, our daily tasks, and our relationships by the light of His Son is an option available to us daily.
We are looking for shortcuts, easy answers, for someone to just do the thing for us. Secretly, we like the idea of having no choices; it lets us off the hook.
Our choices are powerful and they matter in the Kingdom of God. The Lord will bless you with circumstances and manifestations of His Goodness. He will also bless you with choices.
Everyday, we are faced with a myriad of decisions. In the midst of triumph and pain and apathy, there are choices to be made. Choices about our perspective. Choices about our thoughts and actions. Pray today that the Lord will show you your choices and that you might make them with courage.

A rainy Friday morning here in ole east tennessee...i went out and had my usual Friday morning breakfast with some men friends from my church...we did NOT solve any problems facing the world today but we did as we always do have some great conversations concerning the world and our lives and Jesus. Awesome to have those people in ones life that anytime we are together...we can talk about alot of stuff but Jesus is always part of that conversation....i say....it helps keep us grounded...so to speak...as scripture tells us....iron sharpens iron...right!
After we went our seperate ways i stopped in at my church and said a few hellos and came back to the house for my Jesus time and to read a little here and now im about to start my day out walking with Jesus to see where He might lead me on this awesome rainy Friday. So...why am i telling y'all this....simple....i surround myself with those like minded people that follow Jesus...and that...is what helps keep me....most of the time....on the straight and narrow. People to encourage me...lift me up....hold me accountable....and lord knows i need lots of that hold me accountable stuff...wink. So how about you....do have those kinds of people in your life...those brothers and sisters that you can depend on thru thick and thin...part of that body of Christ that is NOT of this world but is looking forward to that day we will spend all eternity in heaven together thanking God for His grace and mercy! If not....you dont know what you are missing...Jesus and the believer family...dont get no better than that! And with that said...im NOT saying that we are better than anyone else...we are all sinners saved by grace...we all fail and stumble in our walk from time to time....we are just regular people that are trusting in Jesus filled with the Holy Spirit sharing the good news to this lost and dying world...planting seeds of salvation that others might be drawn to their day of salvation and get to participate in the same things i just spoke of here....a bad day in the world with Jesus is many times better than a good day in the world without Jesus and having those born-again believer friends in our lives just makes it that much more sweeter!
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16
Are you Straddling the Fence? Meaning...Walking with God and holding hands with the devil. Shame on you! How long will you be caught between two opinions...two lifestyles...two beliefs...two directions...two mindsets...two masters...two desires. You can’t be 50% Christian and 50% worldly. It doesn’t work that way...and...the Bible says it cannot be done. You must take sides. You are either following Jesus or you are following satan. There is no middle ground. Trying to keep one foot in the world and one foot in the church. Ain’t gonna work! The problem is you don’t want to give up your sin. You don’t want to give up your status in the world. Naw...you’re having too much fun. You want your cake and ice cream too. Well you can’t have it! Ain’t no mixing of allegiance to God with other gods! You got to choose! Either God is your daddy or satan! Who’s your daddy? Time to decide! You cannot remain neutral. You cannot straddle the fence and you can’t just give Jesus lip service. Listen...you cannot...and must not...compromise to any of satan’s conditions. Ultimately...everything you have and ever hope to be...must be laid on the altar. Make the transition from declaration to discipleship. That is...declaration to dedication. Don’t let satan deceive you and rob you of the greatest blessing man has ever known...salvation from sin through Jesus Christ our Savior and redeemer. Stop straddling the fence. Liberty is not a license to compromise. You are either with Jesus fully...or you oppose Him. Which is it? The record of choice...life or death...blessings or cursing. God wants wholehearted dedication or nothing! It’s time to make up your mind! Are you ready to serve the Lord? The application could not be clearer...“Choose for yourselves this day Whom you will serve.” There is no room for neutrality. Make your choice. Cast your vote. Choose your God. I pray you will make the right choice. As for me and my house...we will serve the Lord!
