Our Help in Prayer
~ The Holy Spirit intercedes for us and shows us what petitions to bring to the Lord.
Scripture Reading: Romans 8:26-27
Does this sound familiar? Determined to spend more time in prayer, you kneel, open your mouth to speak to the Lord, and — draw a blank. Sure, you manage a few words about what you need Him to do for you and your family, but you should be praying for more than that, right?
Yes, you should. Believers’ needs are indeed the Father’s concern; nothing escapes His notice. However, He tells His children to imitate Jesus — they should “not merely look out for their own personal interests, but also for the interests of others” (Philippians 2:4). Selfless prayer likely isn’t natural to us, but thankfully, God has supplied a Helper. The Holy Spirit, our willing and able partner in praying effectively, intercedes for us (Romans 8:26).
How should we cooperate with the Spirit’s intercession for us?
• First, we must recognize God’s authority, holiness, and glory.
• Then, we need to submit to His leadership.
• Finally, we must entrust our future to Him, believing that He will bring great good out of negative as well as positive events in our life.
In submission to the Holy Spirit, we’ll discover greater peace and joy. And as we bring petitions inspired by the Spirit, we’ll also find new words for praying to the Father. Even more importantly, we will develop a deeper understanding of God’s greatness.

I know exactily what you are saying and i got your point completely and i so totally agree! I hear church folks say that to other folks quite often..."i know what you are going thru"......"i know how you feel"...and in reality...MOST of the time they dont have a clue....i mean...i know they MAYBE mean well...but im hear to tell you....most of the time when someone tells someone that...that person knows pretty well whether they have been thru something like that and if they havent....well...its just wrong....its not being nice....its just wrong!
Let me go off in the weeds a minute...Another one is at the funeral home when a person tells a grieving person....well...they are in a better place..or...they are better off....well...if they are sure they are in heaven that is true...BUT....you still dont tell a grieving person that...my opinion!
Now back out of the weeds.....When it comes to life and the good and especially the bad stuff....who do i want to talk to....somebody that has been there and done that...right?! I want to hear from someone that Jesus and the Holy Spirit showed them the light and brought them thru that valley and they can encourage me that i can lean on that truth and can call them anytime to talk it out....i mean...i can do all things thru Jesus who gives me strength but having another brother or sister or two goes a long ways to! I mean...that is why all believers in the body of Christ...we all have different and the same spiritual gifts...different talents...to minister to each other. God has allowed all of us in different ways to survive this that and the other to reach out to others that are going thru those same things. So.... i say Amen brother plugger!
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer.
2 Corinthians 1:3-6
I replied to this once, but went to my Barn to do some wood work on my Chess Board & Pieces for grandson....what a job I undertook, anyway, I had to come inside for 2 reasons, 1--this was heavy on my "P" brain---2--I got out there and was like everything was going around & around, been over a week since my last treatments and that crap just won't let me do what I want....talk about our human side wanting to be in control...lol
OH!! Where was I, lol----oh yes----Has to do with your post and all you went through-----Back years ago I had issues with folks in Sunday School Class, Christian folks really mean well, but at the same time can really screw a situation up....My point to the class was that when a person is struggling with whatever we should never say I understand what you are going through, simple reason, if you ain't never been there how in God's earth can you say-- I know what you are dealing with....We as Christians can "sympathize" and pray but no way we can "identify" unless we have suffered that person's problems. Now God can take someone who has been the devil's right hand and turn that person's life around, then that person is way more than qualified to say "I know what you are going through, I been there."-----This---In my opinion----is exactly what God has done with you,--you can identify with other who have struggled as you did in your past----I can identify with folks who missed the mark as I did for so very long----Probably not being real clear here, but, anyone given thought to this understands,-- folks do a little should searching, see where you missed God's mark and witness to others like you before you came to Christ
Now I got to repot to chair duty, something I know a lot about, I mean when it comes to Chair Duty --I DA MAN !!----God Bless
All that hell you went through God now uses all that bad stuff so that you can be a witness to others. Way back in time God called the poor, the uneducated, the outcast, then God placed in them His desire to go out into the world and be fishermen of men-----God Bless, "You a good man -Charlie Brown"
Thank you---excellent....Chatting here on the Bible Board, getting other thoughts really help-
Entertaining Angels
“Let love of the brethren continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.” ~ Hebrews 13:1
We often think life in the plains is mundane, boring, or uneventful. If we measure our behavior on what gains us the praise of fickle mankind, we can easily overlook things like hospitality, simple acts of kindness.
When, instead, we chose these everyday behaviors, they are neither boring nor meaningless. They delight the angels. They bring heaven into applause.
Chapter 13 of Hebrews begins with an admonition to love one another. It implores hospitality, remembering prisoners, healthy marriage, and stewarding good character. All of these things are fascinating to the heavenly hosts. To watch us exercise a life of faith, trusting in God, taking what is unseen and bringing it into vision.
We may not know it, but the angels are tuned in. They are watching from Heaven. And they are watching from Earth. Our choices are powerful and awe-inspiring. They have an effect (and a reward) in the heavenly realm.
The author of Hebrews reminds us the angels are witnesses on our account. Celebrating our choices the way a soccer fan does when his team scores a goal. Rooting us on in the kindness we show to one another. Amazed by the incredible opportunity we have and astonished when we take advantage of it exactly the way God designed. It is our great opportunity.
Let’s give the angels something to cheer about.

Like you...this scripture and what you said brought this to my mind. My 25 years of helter skelter living as one of satans right hand men and all the dope and booze i put thru my body. I didnt give a hoot about myself and maybe...maybe...gave a little hoot for a handful of people during that time...but...i could live with them or without them...didnt much matter. How many times i woke laying in my own puke....blood....so much stuff in me that i had peed and crapped on myself...that close to death....overdosed two times....in and out of jail a few times.....and everyday i would wake up and beat my head against the wall and head out and do it all over again and again and again. How many times i would hit that proverbial rock bottom and i would claw and claw my way back to the top and before i knew it jump right back in again without missing a beat. And in hindsight...and in that last verse you quoted...."But His hand is stretched out still"...i know that every stupid thing i did over those 25 years...everytime i laid close to death...His hand was stretched out calling me and waiting for me to grab hold and each time in my own way im guessing i cussed and laughed and continued on in my twisted way of life...but...Jesus never gave up. "But His hand is stretched out still". And finally November 27th 1995... 40 years old... He finally got thru my hard heart and thick skull and i fell to my knees in my bedroom about 11 pm all by myself....higher than a Georgia pine as i had been for 25 years and i said YES forgive me and save me Jesus! And here i am...soon to be 29 years of zero dope and zero booze and i know from deep in my soul...the only way that happened was thru my relationship with Jesus and filled with the Holy Spirit!
THANK YOU JESUS!
Good morning brother....As we know a great deal of the time at funerals Psalm 23 is used and i think that often times people...especially unbelievers... maybe get it in their heads and associate this verse with ONLY death....and i get that to a point because of verse 4.....and the fact that it is read at funerals.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me........
.......that is what puts people in that frame of mind...especially at funerals....but....i totally look at Psalm 23 as a passage of hope and encouragement thru our relationship with Jesus. All so often when something hits me the wrong way....when anger trys to set in....problems.... aggravation....anything in the negitive frame of mind....i go to Psalm 23 and read it 2...3...5 times until i get my emotions back on track. I mean...the totally awesome promises in this passage......
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not ]want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
Psalm 23
And i agree with you plugger....i look at that verse 4...... the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.....of not just being the unknown ...so to speak.......the unknown of life after death. But yes...as you said....from the time we are born till the day we die we are walking thru some sort of "valley of the shadow of death"....but of course there are those mountaintop experiences we talked about the other day....but....and im not being negitive but walking this path here on planet earth we know that ANYTHING can walk into our path at anytime that brings us anything from a little problem to a tragedy....hey folks...im not being negitive....thats just a fact of life.
I often talk about that verse saying to people that that is just everyday life....when the world and satan and his demons are throwing all sorts of stuff at us. When God is maybe testing us or sending correction and discipline our way...and then there is our own worst enemy trying to mess our life up...that be OURSELVES....we have this asesome passage of Psalm 23 to remind us....putting our faith and trust in the good Shepard is going to see us thru 100% of the time!
I also tell folks from time to time that i believe that at times when we find ourselves in that valley of the shadow of death thats its for something different...that Jesus has sent us in there to help someone else in need in whatever way and to help retrieve them...so to speak...to help lead them to the other side.
Here are some things i went back and found just for y'all to think about and as always...open your bible and see where the Holy Spirit leads you.
The valley of the shadow of death it is purported to be between Jerusalem and Jericho and is the location of the actual road where the story of the Good Samaritan took place. Considering where Bethlehem is, David would likely have led his sheep through the valley of the shadow of death as he was growing up.
The valley of the shadow of death is a place of scarcity, danger, pain, and the unknown. This is uncharted charity for the sheep, but not for the shepherd. We can be encouraged knowing that God uses the valley to strengthen our faith and draw us closer to him.We have nothing to fear in the valley because God is with us. God gives us his presence, not pain relievers. We can be confident that God is well-equipped (rod & staff) to protect and provide for us even in the most formidable situations.
However, “valley of the shadow of death” is possibly not the most accurate translation of the original Hebrew text. The NIV, NLT, and HCBS translate the phrase as “darkest valley,” resulting in Psalm 23:4 reading as, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley . . . .” The Hebrew word for “shadow of death” is sal-ma-wet, which means “darkness” or “dark shadows.” It contains the same root as the Hebrew word for “death” (ma-wet), so it is easy to see why some Bible translators include the mention of death in Psalm 23:4.
New King James Version---Isaiah 5:20-21 and 25b
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,
And prudent in their own sight!
For all His anger is not turned away, But His hand is stretched out still
_________________________________________________________
I have always liked this passage and several places in Scripture (Isaiah, I think) it is written "But His hand is stretched out still"----Maybe I like this passage so much because it is a story of my younger life, I was quite capable of making evil acceptable so I could live my life to all my wants and desires and then one day I lived the final verse---"But His hand is stretched out still."----You know if you have a friend who is drowning and you toss him/her a life-saving device and they take hold they survive, if they do not take hold, no matter what you say or plead, they sink to the pits. Quite simple ain't it-----God's Hand is always stretched out, it is our choice to take hold or not----I thank God each and every morning for another day this side of the green and thank Him that His hand was stretched out for me.
GOD BLESS & SHARE THE FAITH--------Rumor has it that the Captain is going to sound liberty early this afternoon---be safe
Godly Advice
"Never speak harshly to an older man, but appeal to him respectfully as you would to your own father. Talk to younger men as you would to your own brothers. Treat older women as you would your mother, and treat younger women with all purity as you would your own sisters."

Well Done
“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’” ~ Matthew 25:21
“Glory” in the Bible is a translation of the Greek word “doxa” and it means “the essence of something being clearly displayed and observed.” Our great privilege is to exhibit God’s truth through the way we live, in a way that it is clearly seen by others. We are promised that if we show God’s true essence through our lives, God will grant us the glory of His approval.
The greatest end of our life will be to sit with Jesus as He reviews our life and continually hear: “This was very well done.” That is a glory that will never fade.
Life is an opportunity where we can display to others the essence of God by the way we live. The choices we make. The perspective we choose.
We participate in glory when we make decisions that manifest the goodness of God.
The whole process is modeled in this parable in Matthew 25. The voice of the master speaks and makes clear the connection between the master and the servant, the joy of approval, and the blessing for continued action.
In all our striving, this is what we truly desire. We all long to hear “well done” from an earthly father. Even more, each of us, is longing for the approval of the Heavenly Father. We want to be counted among His faithful servants. We want to be entrusted with His vision. We want to participate in His kingdom.
Each day begins anew, and is an opportunity to walk in obedience, and hear “well done.”

Great to have a tune in your heart to carry around:
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Thou art the Potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after Thy will,
While I am waiting, yielded and still.
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Search me and try me, Master, today!
Whiter than snow, Lord, wash me just now,
As in Thy presence humbly I bow.
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Wounded and weary, help me, I pray!
Power, all power, surely is Thine!
Touch me and heal me, Savior divine.
Grace Now
“[Love] does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.” ~ 1 Corinthians 13:5
Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 13:4-13
We hurried to a fast-food restaurant to have lunch together on my friend Jerrie’s short work break. Arriving at the door about the same time, six young men got inside just in front of us. Knowing we didn’t have much time to spare, we grumbled inwardly. They stood as a group at both registers to be sure each of them could order first. Then I heard Jerrie whisper to herself, “Show grace now.” Wow! Sure, letting us go first would have been nice, but what a great reminder to think of others’ needs and desires and not only my own.
The Bible teaches that love is patient, kind, and unselfish; it’s “not easily angered”. “It often . . . prefers [others’] welfare, and satisfaction, and advantage, to its own,” wrote commentator Matthew Henry of this love. God’s kind of love thinks of others first.
In a world where many of us are easily irritated, we frequently have occasion to ask God for help and the grace to choose to be patient with others and to be kind. Proverbs 19:11 adds, “A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.”
That’s the kind of loving action that brings honor to God, and He might even use it to bring thoughts of His love to others.
With God’s strength, let’s take every opportunity to show grace now.

Scripture Insight:
Writing to a divided church in conflict and deficient in love, Paul instructed the believers at Corinth how to love one another and described what true love looks like (1 Corinthians 13:4-13). Jesus taught that love is a requirement for those who believe in Him. Loving God and our neighbor are the most important commandments for “the entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments” (Matthew 22:40). Building on the original standard of “love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:39), Christ sets a higher standard, patterned now after His sacrificial love. He wants us to “love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:34). Calling it a new commandment, Jesus said love was the distinguishing mark of those who believe in Him (John 13:35). Loving others is proof that we’re God’s children who’ve experienced His love (1 John 4:7-12, 19-21).

The Importance of Drawing Near
~ Even as believers filled with the Holy Spirit, we can choose to live as if God is still far off. So, may we choose to open our hearts to the living God that we might experience fullness of joy in His loving presence.
James 4:8 contains a profound promise of God. Scripture says, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” For a while I thought this verse seemed backwards. Doesn’t God do the drawing? Isn’t God the one who’s constantly pursuing us?
After diving deeper into the meaning of James 4:8 I discovered an important truth that’s foundational to living in communion with God: the door of God’s heart is always open to us. His love is always for us. His presence is always available. The Father turned away from Jesus as our sins rested squarely on His shoulders ensuring He would never have to turn away from us.
To draw near to God is to simply open our hearts to what was always available. It’s not that God ever withholds His presence from us. It’s that He never forces us to abide in Him. If we want to go our own way, He willingly and patiently waits for us. And the moment that we turn our hearts back to Him, He is there to fill us with a revelation of His loving nearness and unwavering devotion.
In his book, “The Pursuit of God”, A. W. Tozer describes two veils. The first veil was the veil between the Holy of Holies and the world that was torn at the death of Jesus, signifying the availability of God’s manifest presence to all. The second veil is the veil of our own hearts that’s our decision to tear by God’s grace.
Whether it’s the effects of sin and shame or a lack of understanding what’s available to us in Christ, all of us have the ability to veil places in our hearts. All of us can shield our beliefs about our identity, our possessions, or our relationships from the abiding presence of Jesus and live apart from communion with Him. We all have the ability at any given moment to go our own way and miss out on abundant life.
But the truth is that the Christian life isn’t about our ability to abide in God perfectly, but about God’s grace to draw near to us in response to repentance. God has no expectation that we would live this life perfectly. He remembers our frame and knows we are dust (Psalm 103:14). What He desires from us is to allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate any parts of our lives that aren’t His that we would be quick to repent and enjoy His grace-filled presence once again. God is not angry with you for veiling your heart. He knows better than you do the reasons you aren’t letting Him fully in. His heart is filled with the fullness of compassion for you that you might live to experience His grace rather than strive and condemn yourself for your imperfection.
Take time today to rend the veil of your own heart, draw near to God, and experience the glory of His manifest presence.
May Hebrews 10:19-22 provide joy and hope to your heart as you seek to draw near to your heavenly Father:
“And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. By His death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting Him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.”

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me."
Just a thought here---I often think that going through our daily lives here on earth is "the valley of the shadow of death."---We are born and one day we all will die, during that time we are on a trip through this world, we are constantly in the valley of the shadow of death.
GOD BLESS
Just Do It!
"But don't just listen to God's Word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don't obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.” ~ James 1:22-24
A man walking into church late one day asked one of the ushers, "Is the sermon done yet?" The usher replied, "The sermon has been preached, but it has yet to be done."
What a great answer this was! The Word of God is not meant only to be preached to us Sunday after Sunday. It is meant to be done by living it out daily. Once we hear the Word of God, we are responsible for doing what God is asking us to do.
I often encounter fellow believers who spend countless hours listening to sermons and audible Bibles because they want to know more. They criticize others who are not spending every minute learning from God's Word, and find it easy to base a person's faith, and salvation for that matter, on how much they "know" from the Bible.
While it is extremely important to read and mediate on God's Word to grow in faith and go deeper in our relationship with Christ, that is only the first part of what we are supposed to do. Today's scripture says it clearly, "Don't just listen to God's Word. You MUST DO what it says." You can have hundreds of verses memorized, but if you can't love your neighbor, it is for naught. You can listen to sermons all day long, but if your heart is full of pride, your ministry to others will be limited because you are not able to practice all you have heard.
You don't have to be a Bible scholar to be used by God. He is looking for people who are willing to surrender themselves and submit to His will. He is looking for hearts full of humility, mercy, and love. He is looking for people who want to be used, not because of what they know, but because of what God can do through them.
If you know one verse, great! Put it to practice and move on to the next verse. If you know every parable in the Bible by heart, that's awesome! Go and do like Jesus did. Our success in God's work is not determined by our human knowledge, but rather by our ability to listen and do. Obedience to God will open the doors for unimaginable opportunities.
Suggested Prayer:
"Dear God, I want to be used by you. Help me to put into practice all that I have learned from your Word. Please give me a humble heart and mold it how you see fit. May my ministry to others be based on actions, not just words or head knowledge. Thank you for choosing me to be part of the work you are doing here on earth. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Theres an ole saying..."If folks would spend more time minding the dirt on their own porch they wouldnt have so much time to worry about the dirt on their neighbors porch." When we are talking about other folks in a negative or less than desirable way...what we are doing is looking down our nose to some degree thinking we are better than they are. Yes...we have come to the conclusion that our way of living life and our way of doing things is the right way so why isnt everybody doing it that way? You see...finding fault in others..."backbiting"..(to speak unfavorably or slanderously of a person who is not present)..."gossip"...(idle talk or rumor about another person)..."haughty eyes" (setting oneself above others)...these three words are from scripture..IT's SIN!...Folks are really good as seeing themselves as better than those they criticize...but...in reality they are as precious in the Lords sight as we are! So why outside of our concern whether or not a person knows Jesus...should we be trying to dictate how others should live? Who are we to talk about others because they only got a 12th grade education? Who are we to talk about folks because they cant afford a better car...a better house...better clothes. Who are we to look down on others because they didnt get the same opportunities in life as others got? Heck...for that matter if what other people are doing is NOT adversely affecting our life or others lives...who are we to say they need to change anything? Adults are just as bad at bullying as kids! Now look...im NOT on the bandwagon of "Judge not least ye be judged"...lets look at that in the real context...thru the discernment of the Holy Spirit we can judge others to recognize those wolves in sheep clothing...to be aware of those that might harm us or help us fall or fail..to recognize who and what they are by their fruits...we judge we just dont condemn! It goes something like this...God gave everyone a free will to choose to go to heaven or to go to hell and that really is the most important aspect of life! Its our choice. And we as lowly humans are going to sit down here in the presence of God and talk about others because we dont like the way they are? REALLY! It irritates me to no end when i hear someone talking about another person! I wonder what God thinks when He hears it? Remember...God created everyone...Everyone didnt get the same chances in life as others and not everyone had a warm and fuzzy childhood and life. So please people...let us get over our self-righteous selves and concern ourselves with telling folks about Jesus! Remember John 3:17...if Jesus did not come to condemn people...who are we to condemn others! I was a screwed up mess from age 15 to 40...and ill brag on myself a little....i dont think i turned out to bad...why...because i met a man named Jesus! We like to quote hate the sin love the sinner...do we mean that? When i went to elementary school we were taught the "Golden Rule" which is also scripture...what if....people... actually lived this way....wow...what a different world it might be!
In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you,
Matthew 7:12

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

The Believers Form a Community
"All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer."
"A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy, generosity and sincere hearts — all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved."

On the news, there are often interviews with people who’ve suffered an unimaginable tragedy. One day we’re shown tornado survivors whose homes were torn apart by powerful winds. Another day we may see unanticipated floods washing a neighborhood away. The expressions on the faces of those who have experienced devastation can be haunting.
Losses like these always draw our attention toward the fragility of those things we hold most dear — such as our homes, families, and careers. But in a world that often seems to be spinning out of control, believers in Jesus have the privilege of sharing the best news imaginable: We have something that’s stable, something completely secure. There is a rock on which we are able to stand, and it cannot be shaken.
That unshakeable foundation, of course, is Almighty God. We can trust that Scripture is His unchanging, relevant truth for all time (Matthew 24:35). We can depend on a secure eternal relationship with the Lord. And we can be sure that an everlasting heavenly home awaits all those who place their faith in Jesus Christ (Revelation 21:2-4). We can have stability, even in this unstable world.
Among the people you know, who needs this life-saving good news? Don’t wait — share it today.

For the Scriptures say,
“If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies."
"Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it."
"The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers."
"But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil.”
~ 1 Peter 3:10-12

Happy Sunday Morning folks---another great day which the Lord has given us---rejoice
Daniel Webster way back years ago wrote:
"If we abide by the principles taught in the Bible, our country will go on prospering and to prosper; but if we and our posterity neglect its instructions and authority, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us and bury all our glorying profound obscurity ."
Something there for you good folks to think on this morning
Our Trials
~ Trouble is part of life, but God always provides what we need in order to endure.
Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 1:3-9
Some people have the wrong idea about the Christian life. Once they become believers, they expect smooth sailing. However, Jesus made it clear that we’ll all face troubles. His own life was no exception — He endured false accusation, rejection, betrayal, and separation from His Father.
As His followers, we too can expect difficulty. Some problems arise from the fallen nature of the world, while others result from spiritual warfare. And we can cause our own heartache from ignorance or sin. There’s also another possibility — sometimes God Himself brings trials. While it’s difficult to accept this, the Lord never allows hardship unless He has a beautiful purpose. And He always gives us strength to endure.
Remember, God permits struggles for our benefit. Perhaps they are to purify and grow us for greater service. Maybe He’s testing our endurance and devotion, or He might be revealing His sustaining power. This side of heaven, we may never know the cause or purpose of each challenge. But we can trust God’s ability to deliver and mature us.
What trials are you facing?
Jesus understands your pain and longs to be the One you cling to through good times and bad. You can choose to look elsewhere for comfort, or you can use your hardship as an opportunity to connect with God.

Tenac——a lot here about lies——- honestly my son gave me that Bible and I honestly have it……I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity, right after my post you did your thing…….a bit of humor good for the soul
We all know that telling lies...what we sometimes call bald face lies...is wrong...its sin! Yes...scripture tells us many times that lying is sin. So...heres something to think on. We have all heard of and im sure told a good many what we like to call "little white lies". Am i right? Now we can offer good reasons and make excuses for why we do that cause im pretty sure we all know what "little white lies" are and we humans usually think of them in regards to they really dont hurt no one. So again, whats the big deal after all its just a "little white lie"....i just stretched the truth a little so no big deal..right? However...heres the thing...no matter how we try and dress it up and justify those "little white lies"...if we tell something that is not the truth...even half the truth..."a little white lie"...for whatever reason...what have we done...Have we not just told a lie? Now there is much scripture about lying or bearing false witness...but lets look at Proverbs 6:16-19...."There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers"....Hummm...do i see lying in there two times with some other really bad stuff? Oh yeah...lets not forget what number nine of the Ten Commandments says about lying...Dont!....Heres something i have read in the past to think on. "If we tell half the truth, we have really told a whole lie because anything less than the whole truth is a whole lie". Does it bother you to tell a half-truth? When we tell something and we leave out part of the truth to make things or ourselves not seem so bad...to make ourselves and things look better.... we have committed a sin of omission. By omitting part of the truth have we not told a whole lie. And when we tell someone that we are going to do something that we know we are not...what have we just told? So i wonder...in Gods eyes...is there such a thing as a "little white lie"?
I Have No Regrets About My Past...My Past Is Who I Am Today...Born Again!
Rick j Sane
“You shall not steal; you shall not deal falsely; you shall not lie to one another.
Leviticus 19:11
A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will perish.
Proverbs 19:9
Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight.
Proverbs 12:22
Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.
Colossians 3:9-10
Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.
Ephesians 4:25
A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will not escape.
Proverbs 19:5
Some years ago my oldest son gave me ""The AmericanPatriots Bible"---this morning I just breezed through many pages in it and found that I had many places either marked or hi-lited but as I looked and thought of years past and stuff our fore-fathers believed, from the beginning of our country then I thought of how our leaders of our country are today and I could not help but think on how far from grace we have fallen. Example: way back in 1800 Congress approve the use of the Capital building for religious services, this practice lasted well after the Civil War. The Holy Bible and God were a big center piece in the construction of America .......today one may find him or herself in danger if lived by the standards of our forefathers----just something there to think on. It is amazing that even non-christians country leaders believed that Christian principles were very important in the building of our country. Our country was founded largely upon the 7 Principles of the Judeo-Christian Ethic-------It only takes a Quick Look back in history to see how far from Grace we have fallen----both as a country and organized religion
The Undeniable Universal Law
My wife came home from the market awhile back and asked me to unload the car. I like to get as many bags on my arms as humanly possible so I don’t have to make multiple trips. I had all these bags in my arms and was carrying them in when I dropped one. Guess which one I dropped? It was the one with the eggs, of course. Of all those bags, I dropped the one with the eggs.
There’s a law of the universe called Murphy’s Law, which says that if anything can go wrong, it will — and usually at the most inopportune moment.
Of course that isn’t a real law, but there are real laws that govern our universe. There’s the law of gravity, which basically says things tend to go downward. Or, to put it a simpler way, what goes up must come down. One of the laws of thermodynamics essentially tells us that all things are breaking down.
And there’s the law of sowing and reaping, which is found in the Bible:
“Don’t be misled — you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” ~ Galatians 6:7–9
Just as surely as there’s a law of gravity, as well as laws of thermodynamics, you can be sure there’s a law of sowing and reaping. We tend to think of that law in a negative sense, but the law of sowing and reaping is both positive and negative.
If you sow to the flesh, you’ll reap corruption, or deadness, and that is negative. But if you sow to the Spirit, you’ll reap life everlasting.

Worship the LORD God
“Come, let us shout joyfully to the LORD, shout triumphantly to the rock of our salvation! Let us enter His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout triumphantly to Him in song."
"For the LORD is a great God, a great King above all gods!”
"The depths of the earth are in His hand, and the mountain peaks are His. The sea is His; He made it. His hands formed the dry land.”
"Come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, the sheep under His care.”
~ Psalm 95:1-7

Have a awesome weekend!
The open of hearts to express how God has touched them is wonderful and I thank each for their testimonies. It is really good to read of Peter how he spoke up, goes also for Philip , James, John and the whole crew of disciples……not always but often the pouring out of our Christian experiences is truly doing God’s work. Once again thanks for all the post here on the Bible Board, God bless each of you. In your prayers ask God to richly bless this board and those who read here
Amen brother...i grew up a farm boy here in the mountains of east tennessee and even back in my crazy days i always so loved and appreciated Gods creation and spent a great deal of time enjoying it in many ways. The when i got born-again at age 40 it all took on a whole new and different meaning as i then not only seen the beauty of it but also saw God in it!
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
Romans 1:20
