eastcoastguy, I'd second that assessment.

This bear market mat have a ways to go yet, but I am detecting some strong
resilience in our bio sector....The XBI is stubbornly refusing to go to new lows, and the NASDAQ, which has been hit the hardest in this downturn, is looking better
as well....................let's not forget that the bio sector started to slide rapidly
before the rest of the market decline...we may be ahead of the curve in the bull
reversal..................hopefully................................glta...
Yes good point, and I totally agree....at the same time we don't want Nick to miss on any of his projections. Even blue chip companies like Target, Amazon, Cisco(and I could go on) get slammed for missing on revenues or profits.
Now in my mind, we have already been slammed a lot harder than these stalwarts of the index, so even if there is a minor glitch(which I do not believe there to be) hopefully the bulk of the downside is in!
And just think, with really solid numbers matching or beating projections we might just buck the market trend and start heading higher!?
What I really don't want is being set up for a buy out at our current low valuation....even with a 30% to 50% valuation above current price, this would still represent quite a sting!!!
I don't think WS thinks our numbers are amiss. The whole market has been inflated and the air is coming out of it. That's how bear markets go. Eventually markets revert to the mean. CDMO at a P/E over 82 is taking it on the chin like all the high PE stocks. The good news is CDMO reports GAAP earnings which are real profits as opposed to non-GAAP earnings like much of the tech world. That's why the biotech and story stocks have been creamed. CDMO will reduce their PE by increasing earnings. In looking at the 3year/weekly chart CDMO is sitting on very solid support right above the 200wma. I could see a dip below it but not much. The world has a lot of problems but it will always need what Avid produces!
hang in everyone,
eastcoastguy
Stock market sentiment is a cruel master!!!! It seems we are not going to get any firm direction which way this stock goes until our upcoming financials and CC.
The market is already, or has already treated us like something is amiss with our numbers, and that the future is very cloudy(We are in the baby with the bathwater crowd)!
What Nick has to do is confirm guidance with an upward tilt if possible.....show increase in growth, margin, backlog and profits.....confirm expansion plans are on track and on budget.....detail and confirm when earnings from expansion will begin to accrue to the bottom line.
And of course make it very clear that we have strong cash flow to fund any future expansion plans or options that come our way and make it crystal clear that we will not require any financing at all in the foreseeable future.
That is all! He does all of this and we will be looking much better by the end of the year!!!
I see Avid advertising for a senior business development officer for the east coast. The message I responded to is an appointment in 2020. Possibly this is an added position, not a replacement?

Poor leadership and poor communication, see you at $4!
The usual doubling of volume at the close...interesting!!!
After the huge fall in share price that we took over the last several months, I would have expected a little bigger bounce higher on market green days but it seems that the gains are difficult to consolidate.
Now to be fair, we get very little shareholder support from Tustin in between CC's, but in this kind of a market, it may not have made much of a difference?
The market wants to see strong growth and strong profits with increased guidance going forward.......if Nick delivers all of this we should get a big bounce that has some legs.
TDA estimates that date as 6/27/2022. Closer to end of qtr?
Estimating 3weeks Until Next EarningsReport: https://www.earningswhispers.com/stocks/cdmo glta, eom.
Protector brought up a very good point....you should not be buying this stock if you have a defined and predetermined timeline on your investment.....this is one you buy to hold and wait for the market to discover what a jewel it really is....the market does tend to come back to sift through the debris after a broad selloff to find the stocks that exhibit true value and then, the shareholders may be rewarded.....but don't put a timeline on it...you need to have the ability to hold because you never know when you will be rewarded.
All IMO of course.
And, $CDMO Put/Call Ratio=0.050, VeryBullish! Glta,eom.

Bluerinse, when it drops with the rest of the market yes it is. Then again, we all know the rhetoric of picking the criteria.
If it goes up alone, the raise isn't important. If it drops with the market, the drop is important. If q after q a loss is reported, the results are important. If 6 q in a row a profit is made, the results are not important. If the II% is at 20% then IIs have no confidence in the stock. If II% is at 100 or 120% then the II% number must be wrong.
If we go from 12 to 11, see you at 4. If we go from 11 to 15, see you at 4$. If we touch 20$, see you at 4$
And I could go on for a while.
AIMO
I'm really curious what good leadership looks like to you. IMHO we've done well, growing our book, expanding our business, retiring the preferred, building capacity, entering new lines of manufacture....while providing a conservative and steady flow of information. So your idea of good leadership is....
"Low risk promising stock" ??? Not sure a stock that drops 65% can be categorized low risk. Particularly given the lack of leadership within the company
djohn, it is not different then with any stock investment.
You buy with money that you do not need. If you come to need the money and you must sell, then you don't control the investment and you may have to take a loss.
Those IIs have hundreds of stock. They know exactly what to sell when and they have choices. If the complete market went down then rest assured that the IIs also sold things in the process. Just not CDMO because that is a low risk promising stock.
AIMO
Total shares traded jumped up to 789,000 with more than half coming in right before the close....don't know why we seem to be seeing this familiar pattern regularly now?
Obviously the MM is picking up shares throughout the day and then showing the traded stock at the finish. So who is he/she accumulating these shares for?
What is very clear, is that this is a tough market and very difficult to build on any gains even after our solid day on Friday.
I am just not sure what it is going to take and how long to get this stock rallying again? At the very least I could not see us going anywhere until after the financials and the CC....will the numbers and guidance be good enough to finally start regaining some of our losses of late???
Very frustrated, but at the same time, if I am going to have to hold a stock until the smoke clears a bit and we get more clarity on the Ukraine Invasion, inflation front, supply chain issues, and China lockdowns(do not remember having so many stock market related issues and concerns in a very long time if ever), well it may as well be Avid...at least they are on a high growth/strong profit trajectory with their expansion plans which should pay off at one point! IMO
So if we start to run higher after the CC, than great, and if not, I guess we will just have to be patient again for a while! UGGHHH!

Thanks For Posting The Blackrock Correction! Glta, eom.
Blackrock may have been a mistake. It appears to have been corrected. II is back to 118.70%. Now it is back to:

$CDMO Needs StockShareOwnership Audit By SEC, imho. Glta, eom.
Since when over all the years all the interesting incidents that have happened to Peregrine-- Techneclone and now Avid have been what you would call normal??
Keep an eye on this situation with a 40% owner who has questionable history with CDMO/PPHM. CDMO should never be sold at fire sale prices to “any” entity. It has been doing everything right and setting up to be a bigger player in this industry. Hopefully Blackrock is a supporting entity who wants CDMO to continue to grow its value in the marketplace. Keep an eye on this situation. It’s not the norm.
Now II 158.53% up from 145% earlier

If I Read It Correctly, Though Filed Yesterday (5/12/2022),
It Was 13F/HR Thru End Of Quarter For Blackrock (3/31/2022).
So Maybe There Is Another Specific 13f/g Just Regarding Avid(CDMO) Dated 5/12/2022 And The Above Referenced 13F/HR Is Not The One We Want?
Glta StockHOLDERS
Don't they have to file and amended 13g ever time they increase or decrease their holdings by 5%? If they are truly at 40%, that's a lot of 5%'s since the last one.
If you look at the Twitter buyout you will see that short covering never pushed the pps above the buyout price. Blackrock could be the biggest shorter which allowed them to buy at lower and lower prices. We had many down days when buy volume exceded sell volume. And then all those large trades at the close at the same time were probably Blackrock's.. They could not have done it without the cooperation of the MMs.
It looks like it was all orchestrated and went on for quite a while.
There has to be a 13g filing by blackrock either today on monday if they remain over the min threshold....r
Wouldn't Shorts HaveToCover Before Vote On Potential Buyout?...
If So, Closing Out All Current Shorts Would(Should) Push PPS Up?!!
Glta StockHOLDERS!
If they own 25 million shares they need another 6 million to approve a cheap buyout. We might be bought out around 10 per share? I believed that with so many IIs owning stock this could not happen as there could never be one of them owning 50% of the outstanding shares.
If Someone SuddenlyReports Owning40+%, Shouldn't PR Be Issued...
By Avid???
Isn't That A Material Event???
Glta, eom.
The freakin blackrock 13f filing is so huge on the sec website the page won't load...lol...r
Guessing: $11.30 Was Bottom. PPS Heading up,Up,UP,...glta,eom.
Maybe, But Blackrock Bought ManyShares Of PPHM, When...
PPHM Was In Negotiations To Be BoughtOut Before The
Sabotaged Drug Trial... Then, Blackrock Dumped Those Shares
BEFORE News Ever Hit The Streets. I Personally Think Blackrock
Knows $CDMO Stock PPS Will Go up, Up, UP,...!
Who Knows?
But I Think Avid ER's Prove The PPS Should Never Have Dropped
Below $20.
We Shall See...
Glta Bulls, Watchers, & StockHOLDERS!
Maybe the filing was in error. I can’t believe they could own that much.

...Steve King: “For this reason, we have concluded that in order to best position Peregrine’s R&D assets for successful development, they should be advanced by a partner with the appropriate expertise and ample resources to invest in the necessary clinical trials. To that end, we have been working diligently towards the transformation of the overall business to becoming a pure-play CDMO, while assessing the best strategic options for the R&D assets that would allow stockholders to directly see the future value from their continued developments. By partnering & eliminating future R&D expenditures, we believe we are best positioning Avid for future growth. Through reinvestment & expansion, we believe we will attract new customers and extend current contracts that will help position Avid as a leading U.S. CDMO. We are moving forward expeditiously with strategic discussions as we recognize the need to move quickly both from the R&D & CDMO standpoints. We hope to bring this process to completion over the coming months and will update you on our progress.”
