I was reading something similar. Didn’t know about the 6 code. The stock was pushed down big time in the closing minutes. Closing short tactic? I figure it’s bullish either way
I found that that trade (for 6,171,579 shares) crossed as:
03/15/2024 16:00:02 EDT 6 5.02 6171579 NYSE
The "6" is code for 'Market Center Closing Trade' or MOC (Market on Close) for short.
"A market-on-close (MOC) order is a type of stock order that instructs the broker to buy or sell a security at the closing price of the trading day. "
Interesting, not sure what that means but will do some research for better understanding
My guess is that was an order imbalance correction.
Any conjecture is welcome
Any idea what the 6m T trade is all about after hour?
Thanks for the reply. Watching the level here and where it closes. Sitting right at the 200sma
Today? I don't think so, but sometime? More than likely.
If it stays up for the day I will likely sell the trading shares I bought yesterday and wait for that dip.
Considering a swing here. Think it will have a brief dip back under 5?
Stellantis picked up another 1.6m shares Tuesday and Wednesday average price $5.11
I hope it doesn’t go any lower than $4.62
I bought some back at $4.90 this afternoon. However- I think there will be a chance to buy for less tomorrow- maybe Monday -which I will because my trading position needs rebuilding.
That’s my fault though so when that happens I come here to complain 😭
I sold $5.50 yesterday and bought back way too soon lol
You are trading this right? It is throwing trades in your lap! Last week you could buy low 4's and yesterday you could sell mid 5s (I know, because I did)
Today-tomorrow you can buy back under 5 and wait for the trade. With this stock you want to always have a trading position outside your core holding. Use the shorters to your advantage.
Prob in a day or two. Maybe today even! Lol
Good I can avg down
Here they come!
Damn I wanted some 3s
Stellantis picked up 3.5m shares open market last 4 days increasing their stake from 14.8% to 15.1%
Gravestone doji yesterday. Would be very bullish if we close anywhere green today
Price movement
Up 8% to nearly red on the day. I’m sorry but that’s not normal procedure movement, and it’s every time
Ortex live short interest
38.8m
19.89%ff
It also says that in November 2023 it reached 27%. I check frequently and have never seen the live short interest go much over 20%
Idk very weird
I really hope not lol
Not for any reason that I'm aware of. Just picked up a few trading shares at $4.55
Think we see 3’s again?
It is what it is. I don't short stocks. It's more trouble than it's worth to me. I do pay attention to short volume because it's an indicator of where the stock will be heading. There are no catalysts for ACHR in the short term, and that is the most likely cause of selling rather than buying. I tried for a $4.60 fill have earnings announcement, to add some more trading shares, but it didn't fill. Looks like I can go get them now if I want.
What do you think about naked shorting? And if not why so much selling pressure?
Don't know if everyone's seen this.
Archer Aviation's ( ACHR ) short percent of float has fallen 4.56% since its last report. The company recently reported that it has 38.22 million shares sold short, which is 16.33% of all regular shares that are available for trading. Based on its trading volume, it would take traders 8.36 days to cover their short positions on average.
Potentially more if you think about all of the open orders placed with companies that may never reach market. ie. Vertical Aerospace deal with American Airlines
This is a positive future look.
@ArcherAviation

We set ambitious goals. We make data-driven decisions, hold ourselves and each other accountable and are committed to relentless execution.
Urban mobility is about to be taken to a whole new dimension. Designed to be capable of flying distances of up to 100 miles,
but optimized to conduct back to back flights of ~ 20 miles with ~12 minutes of charge time in between, at a cost that we believe will be competitive with ground based ride share.
Midnight is aiming to redefine what air travel can be: low cost, low noise, with the safety of commercial airlines.
by six independent battery packs, each supporting a pair of electric engines
Midnight was designed from the start with safety in mind. To achieve our desired levels of safety, redundancy is key. Midnight’s avionics system includes four flight control computers,
with redundant inertial navigation, GNSS and AGL sensors to ensure robust and reliable data to the pilot.
Each pair of forward and aft electric engines are independently powered, helping to ensure the aircraft can safely complete a flight should an entire battery pack fail.
Designed to hold a 1,000+lbs of payload, the aircraft can truly handle four passengers plus a pilot.
