Jeffries announced a target valuation of $9.50/unit.
This is more than even I have been seeing just ahead but
I'll take it!
Just confirmed:
The next distribution is 22 cents.
Goes ex-d December 30th and payday will be January 29th.
Looking forward to eating again.
Lol
It surprises me that this board isn't busier.
NLY has been a solid pick for me over the past 25 years or so. After an absence of around five years or so I decided it was time to relaunch a position. I picked up less than 2,000 units so far and hope to continue adding tomorrow.
Reinvesting the dividends in my IRA if as been helpful.
Agree, NLY solid!
If you are patient, NLY will give investors a total return of 20% annualized over the next two years. Mark these words.

Looks like the dividend is secure.
Great earnings. Will add and hold
I am in there with the insiders. Voting eith their cash...big time
18.6% dividend this year. Zacks Rated #1 STRONG BUY. Buy and retire on this one. Share buyback. NLY 18 months ago took on a whole new angle of business risk fir growth. This will be 10-15 in 2025. My 100k feels like 300k

Those 381k shares were picked up at zero cost to him. And while it’s a minor issue, diluting the shares is still a factor for the shareholders value vs the free shares being given.

With all the dividend cuts going on at other companies, demand for fividend stocks will go up.
*Declared second quarter 2020 common stock cash dividend of $0.22 per common share
*Second quarter 2020 core EPS expected to exceed quarterly dividend per share
*Repurchased over $100 million of common stock to date during the second quarter of 2020
“Annaly has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.22 per common share, which sets our dividend yield in line with our historical average and remains attractive relative to various fixed income benchmarks,” stated David Finkelstein, Annaly’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer. “As we mentioned on our First Quarter 2020 Earnings Call, we are constructive on the operating environment and anticipate core earnings will exceed our quarterly distribution for the second quarter. Together with our Board, we have taken a measured approach to setting a dividend level we feel is sustainable in the current environment. Additionally, we repurchased over $100 million in common stock to date during the quarter. We think it is a prudent allocation of capital as our stock remains undervalued relative to our continued improvement in book value while still allowing us to maintain a robust liquidity reservoir.”

With as many shares they have added to the share count in the past couple of years, I would not expect any forward splits. Too much dilution as it is. Might have to do another buy back first.
NLY Q4 earnings were better than expectations. Excellent performance in the last 5 months. Looking great here.
Thanks, I didn't know about the new CFO!!!
Thanks. Some charts I look at seem to suggest that there were a few forward splits in the past. With the new CFO, I'd expect only good things happening here.
Bought today.
Does anyone have a record of the history of splits with this stock? Were there any reverse/forwards in the last 20 years? Curious.
I did well enough. However, two other very strong picks of mine grabbed me by the brain and insisted I liquidate NLY in lieu of those others.
As it happened, each of those others has rewarded me handsomely. And while I lost sight of the travels of NLY, I see now that along with the travels are the travails.
Sorry for the weak play on words, I don't mean to poke fun at any shareholder, ever. I managed to sell my position in its entirety at $9.18.
I'm pleased, of course, as this swap of NLY and the other picks worked out well for me.
For what it's worth, I continue to view NLY as a longer term insurance play. However, when the iron is hot, I believe it behooves the investor to move into free-fall at least short term and take advantage of unusual opportunity.
I wish you great fortune!
Nice entry point. I'm looking to add 1000 shares and $9.19 is a steal. Looks like Market Edge upgraded to LONG today, 8/2. All others are at hold (neutral). Woot.
It never fails!---I reinstated a position in NLY on Monday and yesterday Zackturds came out with an article panning the stock. What cruds!
They pander to today, I realize. But I'm looking forward, knowing full well that every day soon becomes a victim of the yester effect. And with NLY going ex-div tomorrow, I'm glad to have snuck in just barely under the wire. This is my insurance play and I expect to laugh all the way to the bank.
Their ratings system is so woefully inadequate for this sojourner. Even Heaping Crappers comes in higher on my list than Zackturds. Phew!
Good enough for the moment. But it's important to keep on feeding the kitty so as to be prepared for cyclical downturns affecting our other holdings.
NLY is down a nickel from yesterday. Set it and forget it is my motto on this and AVMXY. But add as you can---the yield is fantastic enough for me.
Liked the article. Moving slow but picked up 300 @ $9.20. It keeps it on the radar!
For my board family members:
Just took a fresh position in NLY in premarket. Rida Morwa, whom I deeply respect, has an article on it at Heaping Crappers. I've not yet had time to read it but I've been in Annaly numerous times over the years, tend to get out when the recession fears and economny excitement subside. It's always been nicely profitable for me. This occurs when the economy finds stronger footing. The reverse spells my reason for jumping back in right now---whether we are actually looking at a recession or not isn't material to me. But that so many people are running in fear of one yells at me, "BUY!"
So I took a 1,000 share position in premarket---paying $9.19. Cash is tight so I may be unable to add more at this time but will explore further. And I want to read Rida's article for sure as he's really great.
Hope you give this some thought while the getting is good.

Keep buying. If the fed lowers interest rates in dec we go to 12.00 +10% divy
Sure, loading up on all the high divi plays, just to hedge my play with the regular stocks.
Have a feeling its gonna cave eventually, as it always does, especially now with all the stupid things DC is doing.
Divi used to be a lot greater than 12% annually; expect it to increase if PPS increases. In this one for the next 40+ years.
Haaaa. 20 years strong. Your not getting cheap shares here
Wow no posts in a year!
Just decided to add this to my portfolio as it pays 11.88% dividend annually paid quarterly!
Need to hedge my bets due to the current conditions in DC these days. Huge trade deficit, maybe impeachment proceedings, and the killer will be if they raise interest rates! Then the bottom will fall out of the stock market just like 2008!
Playing it a bit safe!
Just stopped by to wish all my fellow Nly investors a, Happy New Year and may Nly keep it's huge dividend.
