actually i would be pissed if they leased it site unseen. they had to go there. i would never expect a signed lease the same day as the meet either.
im sure snakes wants multi-year and a complete build out of the interior and there is a lot of other stuff to confirm. zoning. parking, signage etc..
if it is anywhere close to asu they will be lucky to get it imo. that campus is insane on weekends. they close some of the streets and it's a massive party. it's a very cool setup there. good times lol.

- Ben made the first trip a month or so ago and they narrowed down areas measured foot traffic etc.
- Jrf started looking for a space. He found it and set up the meeting with the landlord.
- Ben has to come back see the space and sign off while pitching the SL business to the landlord so they get selected.
They aren’t just throwing up franchises anywhere. They are methodically picking places to try and ensure success. Not like throwing up a McDonald’s or Wendy’s on the local corner.

It would be crazy if he got turned down. Is the building owner really thinking something better will come along and just have his property sitting vacant? Seems kinda dumb to me if I knew someone was ready to make a multi year lease deal on my building.

They’re probably making a pitch to the landlord why they’re the right fit, and then discussing terms. Flight, hotel, etc >1,000$. Not a biggie Aggie. Don’t you want them to take it seriously? This is a big deal as it’s the first US location! Calling in the big dogs is the right move imo! He probably doesn’t mind staying in AZ for another week either if need be!
Well it's not that easy, it is prime real estate and Ben and jrf had to convince the LL to select them. Sounds like that was successful, now onto negotiating the lease.

Yes! One more week and then we can hopefully pick up that remaining 10%...Doable! I am sure the owner must be sold on the fact that an internationally known board game cafe will have its first US location in his building. This might be an eye opener for him/her!

I doubt that. I’m sure the owner had multiple businesses going after the space and Ben and Jrf had to pitch the SL story so he could see it’s a stable business. They also probably negotiated some of the lease terms now just needs to have the papers drawn up... still good progress being made.
And you then ask.. how lucky Snakes was to get Midtown... eyebrow raising stuff.
Prime realestate is a 'competition' Im happy they were well received and 90% shot of signing on dotted line.
