Ameriana Bancorp is a bank holding company for Ameriana Bank (the Bank). The Bank has two wholly-owned subsidiaries, Ameriana Insurance Agency (AIA) and Ameriana Financial Services, Inc. (AFS). The principal sources of funds for the Bank’s lending activities include deposits received from the general public, funds borrowed from the federal home loan bank (FHLB) of Indianapolis, principal amortization and prepayment of loans. The Bank’s primary sources of income are interest and fees on loans and interest on investments. The Bank also invests in various federal and government agency obligations and other investment securities, including mortgage-backed, municipal and mutual fund securities.
