Altura is building a leading position in the independent supply of lithium raw materials, with a world class lithium project under construction at Pilgangoora and to be the first new hard rock lithium product supplier in 2018. The Altura team has a track record of delivering mining projects on time and on budget and with solid offtake partners and a world market providing substantial demand and growth opportunities, Altura’s shareholders can look forward to receiving strong returns in the next few years.

Altura’s Pilgangoora is a world class hard-rock open pit lithium mine which will be in production in early 2018.

The project, located at Pilgangoora in Western Australia, is approximately 123km drive from the town of Port Hedland. Road access to the site is via the Great Northern Highway and then Shire roads and station tracks. The Pilgangoora Mining Lease tenements, covering the resource modelling area, are M45/1230 and M45/1231 and cover an area of 394 hectares.
The Pilgangoora deposit will be extracted by open pit methods enhanced by the shallow and thick mineralisation allowing spodumene ore to be extracted from the commencement of mining. Construction of the mine is underway covering mining, processing, logistics and support infrastructure. Mining and processing will commence at the rate of of 1.54Mtpa of ore to produce approximately 230,000 tonnes of lithium spodumene concentrate per annum in Q1 2018. The current life of mine (LOM) is forecast to be 20 years at current rates, but at the request of Altura’s offtake partners, the Company has approved the commencement of an initial Stage 2 expansion study of the project. The Stage 2 scoping study will assist the Company in determining the optimal mine output with the aim of increasing production to 450,000 tonnes annually in order to be aligned with offtake partners’ growth plans.
Concentrate will be exported by ship from Port Hedland to Altura’s lithium aliance partners in China, for further processing into a wide range of lithium chemicals, including lithium carbonate (standard and battery grade), lithium hydroxide, lithium metal, and lithium chloride.

Altura Mining Limited – ASX Announcement –8 January 2018  Page 2 of 5 After a careful market investigation, the board of Altura has recently approved an owner/operator model for the processing plant. This owner/operator model will allow Altura to manage and control this vital step in the delivery of an optimal product to the market, and has indicated cost benefits to the Company as compared with other models reviewed as part of the investigation. Key staff have already been recruited and a recruiting campaign has commenced for the remainder of staff who will be required towards the end of February. Altura Managing Director Mr James Brown said he has been very impressed with the development and timeline maintenance of the project to meet the Company’s aggressive timetable for commissioning and production. “The Board and Management of Altura outlined an aggressive timetable when we broke ground in March last year on the Altura Lithium Project, to place the company in a position to become the first major producer in 2018. The work completed since then has been outstanding and to be nearing completion on the mine site within this specified targeted date keeps Altura firmly on track to start commissioning in Q1 2018, with product sales to commence in Q2 2018.” Mine site works near completion on the Altura Lithium Project Altura Mining Limited – ASX Announcement –8 January 2018  Page 3 of 5 Drone photo taken from above the Process Plant control room Ball Mill trunnion ends now installed
