Axion Power is preparing to make a run like Plug Power. The fundamentals of both companies are quite similar... Plug Power had a mediocre technology, but found a niche market for it and is staying afloat. Axion is going to have a harder time finding their niche market, however energy-backup-storage-systems are a good possibility.
Still on the sidelines with Axion, however, keeping on eye on what's going on over there.
Since the RS and uplisting to NASDAQ the company's share price is worth 1/10 of what it was pre-split.
Seems like a generous discount.
Axion must have shown some kind of business plan to justify uplisting without having meaningful revenue.
Let's see what happens...
Well it could be. Time will tell.
Appears to be end of month, that's all. I don't think it's a big deal...
Neah Power Systems and SOLAR3D...
Today NPWZ announced acquisition intention of Shorai.
hmmmm - so where can we put out money down on this one ??
omosis? ososis? or wait maybe osmosis!
blue energy. mixing fresh and salt water to create energy.
why not?
(this is an older article, but googling "blue energy" will get you a lot more info.)

Will Russia help American solar installation companies grow exponentially?
With the inevitable fall of the petrodollar, there can only be one answer - YES!
The United States (USD) have been considered a safe haven for investors and banks since the implementation of using oil as a standard for the dollar instead of gold.
Oil is the world's main source of energy, therefore a critical commodity.
Russia recently negotiated terms with China to trade oil/gas using RMB/RUB completely bypassing the USD. China is said to start purchasing oil from Saudi Arabia using RMB in 2015.
Without a "petrodollar", the USD will continue to lose value over time making it more expensive to buy oil. This would lead to much higher energy prices in the USA.
The solution:
1) The USA needs to focus its energy production on local resources including: coal/natural gas/solar/wind. AND
2) Keystone pipeline.
My opinion:
I speculate that in the not-to-distant future the US will be forced to return to its original gold standard. This will revert the 50 year trend of devaluation, and begin strengthening the American currency. (Evidence that the US is accumulating as much gold as possible can be seen in current politics. Rumors have it that Ukrainian central bank gold reserves have been sent to the US for "safekeeping". (Not to mention Libya's reserves held tightly by Gaddafi...)
With all countries in the world (except for Algeria perhaps) having billions of USD in debt, paying it off will prove to be much more difficult.
With the USD high, China will remain an excellent outsourcing area for manufacturing.
Since China is the world's largest solar panel and wind manufacturer, purchasing its products will be considerably cheaper. This in turn will help propel US adoption of renewable energy.
Thoughts?
Thanks for the tip! I just started watching the first 27min movie on youtube. What I like about films like these is that we can see if their forecasts were accurate :P
Agreed ac modules are quite interesting.
I'm still in 2 minds about whether micro-inverters can go the distance, that is last 10+ years without too many failures. Gets very hot on your roof and baking electronics is usually not that great an idea.
We are both agreed on QTMM, SLTD: patents, potential and positioned...
Bringing some new meat to the table:
I am gonna suggest a little research into Solexel - some great youtube videos if people are wanting to increase their knowledge of solar cells & manufacturing. http://www.solexel.com/
LG's new AC solar panels! quite interesting.
http://www.solarpowerworldonline.com/2014/10/lgs-new-ac-solar-module-demonstrated-spi/
I saw a youtube movie with a brief showcase of this but can't seem to find it anymore.
Thanks! Simple answer yet effective. I am gathering data to come up with a chart that would do a comparative study between all public (solar installation) companies and see how solar3d comes up.
So far I have Solarcity, RGS, Vivint. I cant seem to think of any others, any suggestions?
obviously that is a matter of opinion....
Stop deleting my post. It does not violate the TOS
You can delete this one after you read it though. Because this one is actually off topic. Thanks
The gain/loss on the derivatives is a permanent item which means on the tax return it is not factored into the NOL calculation. This is because the derivative is non-cash.
Fmeded, thanks for joining! always a pleasure.
You are right, I would classify companies into these categories:
1) NON-SCAM worth while investing:
- I define non-scam by having NET profits and or verifiable patents. OR both!
== Solar3d has both. Seems to be a no brainer. Will it be a "one hit wonder"? or will it be continuously developing the cell. I've mentioned this before but JN hinted that they could use GaAS as material for the cell. This would increase the potential efficiency very much.
== Quantum Materials. Has impressive patents and is about to make a entrance into the quantum dots manufacturing segment. Quantum dots are extremely expensive and is the reason why they haven't been applied to TV's and cell phones. Quantum dots can be used to make solar panels. Multiple revenue streams lined up over here.
2) NON- SCAM but wait for the right moment.
== Mantra Venture Group. A fuel cell game changing inventor. Formic acid play, but seems too far from commercialization to consider seriously.
== Natcore Technologies. ehh beside solar3d one of the first solar stock companies I looked into. I'm not impressed with the fact that tey address the cost of manufacturing as the main reason why they favor relative to current technology. They make more power, but not enough to be "game changing". It's taking them much too much time to go commercial and I think that by the time they do it will be too late.
== Andalay Solar. Their approach to creating a kind of "snap-on" quick installation racking system to save time and avaoid installation costs is great. I do think that commercialization is taking much too much time. LG seems to have technology that could seriously compete.
== Clean Coal Technologies. Ive been "following" this company because I think that for my lifetime coal will be a major source of energy globally. I do think that it needs to be bettered and these guys have patented a method of making low grade coal into something "better" and cleaner-burning. I do own 2200 shares of this firm so im big time biased :P
== Neah Power Systems. Hard to figure out how exactly this company will do. They are making fuel cells, and have patents awarded. Their solution seems viable, however they have manufacturing hurdles that seem difficult to jump over. If they get the |Indian military to license their technology could be the icebreaker every OTC company is looking for.
There are other that I look at but I think that I will limit my post to companies that are listed on the OTC-QB. Pinkies are practically 100% scams.
Solar3d is really the only company solar firm on the OTC that is profitable.
Ill give you a heads up on a few other companies that are relatively OK.
Ill ask you this right away, because I have this itch and I'm pretty sure you will know the answer. (google doesn't always answer my questions)
Does the amount solar3d show in the derivative liability line count towards a Net Operating Loss "NOL" carryforward?
OK I am here too.
I am NOT excited but the SLTD board is - well you know whats happening there - all pain and no pleasure - seems like the only reason for me to read posts is to work out which ones to delete...
A couple of other stocks I find interesting in the green energy sphere are:
QTMM : their board seems to be under assault by a nutter at the moment too !
Natcore: is releasing some interesting PRs but as yet not convincing enough for me to consider parting with my money.
That's right, it's always important to be on the lookout so we don't miss a great opportunity.
The most exciting company I've been following is SLTD, but you already know everything about them.
Have you seen anything else of interest?
I'll be keeping my eyes out for other companies with potential.
Thanks SCJCPA, looking for something fresh :D
btw, have you found any firms that are doing something interesting?
Swiamca, I'm excited for the new board and I'm looking forward to some great discussions
