I agree with you on one thing, it does hurt the investor who needs to sell, and sell at a loss. You only lose money on stocks if you sell at a loss and you only make money if you sell with a profit. Those who don't need to sell and weather the storm, no hurting at all. If you look at the list of trades, you can easily see that the intention is to create an artificial impression that the stock is dropping. From a technical standpoint, it is meaningless. There is no rocket science here.
