#130971 RE: Out The Window #130782

He did it for the name “Liquidmetal”

I know that he said the name was part of the reason that he invested, but interestingly enough, he/Eontec might be weakening the mark or there might be an issue with computer translations of Eontec statements. Many of the translated statements use "liquid metal" to mean "bulk metallic glass" rather than the company "Liquidmetal." Using the trademarked word in this manner can result in a loss of the trademark. "Asprin" used to be a trademark, but now it is a generic pain reliever. Years ago, people used to make "Zerox" copies of documents, but Zerox, fearing a loss of their trademark, started an advertising campaign educating consumers that they were making a "photocopy." Now, everyone gets things photocopied and not zeroxed.

If LQMT isn't careful, "liquid metal" or "liquidmetal" may soon mean "bulk metallic glass" and LQMT will have lost its trademark.
