Again I BEG: Where's the academic evidence that technical analysis is useful for investors?

Beg all ya want. I use charts only to eye ball where a stock might be going, or has been. It requires no technical indicators.

What should be begged is the idea that a worker drone holding some stock or fund position long term is going to be rewarded. The 2008 financial crisis wiped out that idea that holding for long periods of time was beneficial.

No, index funds are not magical. I suggest you try IBB. Where it only takes a tweet from the Trumpster to trash it. Also note, in general, the market has been in a bull phase since 2008. When it exits into a bear market, those ETFs will go down. The market is currently looking for an excuse to go down 10-15%, and is finding one with Korea.

Once again I ask does Buffett care?...

Do you count the many private firms he owns outright? He's owned GEICO for decades along with some other insurance firms.

Correct he has padding on the side. Unless the revenue/profit of the companies he bought turn to goo, they help cancel out any premature or otherwise stock investments Buffett makes. He can wait out the market.

And exactly how are us small retail investors suppose to follow that lead? Some of us retail just don't have $100B laying around, owning several companies on the side generating profit, and making the wait for a stock investment to turn around in 9 yrs, a little less tense. Some of us need a little more than a 3% gain per yr while awaiting for the worm to turn. If the gain required to pay the monthly bills is not obtained, then one ends up having to sell possibly in the hole. Buffett has none of these problems.

Saying the ave retail trader can follow a Buffett model, and be successful is again... same planet, different worlds.
