BTW, my average holding period <<is>> probably 9 years. I have little worry holding my 3M, Rockwell Automation and Boeing that long. I guarantee that my index funds have beaten 99% of chart flippers.

Buffett's average holding period is hard to figure. Do you count the many private firms he owns outright? He's owned GEICO for decades along with some other insurance firms. His largest holdings such as Wells Fargo and Kraft are many times bigger than some tiny holdings he uses for parking short term assets. He has been known to dump quickly, too.

But I stress, Buffett's the greatest investor who ever lived. And he doesn't use charting.

I have to run now. Hope I got some investors thinking about a different kind of scam than the DD Board's usual subjects.
