TVI Pacific Declared "The Best Of The Best" In Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental And Safety Awards

TVI Pacific Inc. (TSX:TVI) (OTCQX:TVIPF) ("TVI" or "the Company") is extremely proud to announce that its Philippine operating affiliate, TVI Resource Development (Phils.), Inc. ("TVIRD"), has received multiple awards during the 2011 Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Awards ("PMIEA") held last week during the National Mine Safety and Environment Conference in Baguio City.

-- Titanium Award for Excellence in Environmental Management
-- Safest Mining Operation
-- Safest Surface Mining Operation
-- Safest Mineral Processing, Concentrator Category

TVIRD was presented with a Titanium Award for Excellence in Environmental Management by the PMIEA Selection Committee led by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources ("DENR"), as well as officials from three industry organizations spearheaded by the Chamber of Mines of the Philippines.

Such prestigious awards require zero environment violations and compliance with all requirements of the DENR such as: the lodging of a contingent Liability Fund; an approved Social Management and Development Program, no fatal accident for the coverage period and no significant damage to lives and properties as a result of operations. Established in 1997, the award recognizes the social and environment initiatives and achievements by the private sector in the mining industry.

The awards highlight the Philippine mineral industry's continuing commitment to the environment, social development, safety and health, as an integral part of mineral resources development. PMIEA recognizes outstanding levels of dedication, initiative and innovation in the pursuit of excellence in environmental management by exploration, mining and other related entities involved in various aspects of mineral utilization. The scope of environmental management includes programs/projects being implemented for the environmental protection and enhancement of mining areas, development of the host and neighboring communities, land use improvement, exploration and mine site rehabilitation, and final decommissioning.

In announcing TVIRD as the winner, Mining Environment and Safety Division Chief of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau, Engr. Rodolfo L. Velasco Jr., declared TVIRD the "best of the best".
