they retro fitted some old burners at the plant (that are no longer used in the bio-fuel process)to resin coat the frac sand


the sand is pumped into the formation with major pressure to fracture the formation(rock/shale)it is forced into the cracks and crevices that are broken open -then the fluids (KCL,water,acid) and gas (CO2) are flowed back out to the surface the sand holds the cracks open and allows the gas and oil to flow through the sand as it is create a porus pathway-this helps explain it
