Interview With Kim Thompson, Ceo KBLB

I Called and introduced myself with my name and told him I was the moderator at investors hub for KBLB. He started off saying he was hesitant talking to me as he doesn’t want to release non-public information and he prefers to use Ben Hansel as the Investor relations contact primarily, but then said he was glad to talk to me. I told him I wanted to get inside his head and help shareholders understand why he has done things the way he has, so that they(investors) can better make decisions. He is very very careful in choosing his words.

For future reference, any questions I would advise be directed towards Ben Hansel(720)288-8495. Any specifics not already disclosed will not be disclosed until a press release is made. Samples of the recombinant thread are being handled with as if they are classified. If a competitor were to get a sample, they would be able to get information our CEO does not want divulged, at least yet.

No speculation here folks, just inside the mind of our ceo, take it for what it’s worth.

I asked why he has been selling some of his shares which were in 500,000 blocks.
Answer.….. reluctant to answer that, and then said are you familiar with a 10b5-1?(no sir), except to say I do have what is called 10b5-1 plan, not under my control, I don’t wanna be in the position to buy or sell stock on the market , its common to establish these, The number I can sell or buy is limited, and the plan set up to not be able to control day to day whether shares are sold or not.

I asked what can you say about the second generation of transgenics, I guess all you can say is the scientists are working hard on it?
Answer……. Working hard, and hopeful for significant forward progress, in the 1st quarter.

no question here, this was his final statement after I told him I appreciated his time etc..

I hope shareholders will hear from us in within 60 to 90 days and maybe another shareholder conference call, no plan yet but sometime in next 60 days if all goes well. Conference call is to give overview to them as to what has been accomplished and an overall update on how I have implemented the business plan and some that weren’t revealed on the previous conference call.

I told Kim we want to know why KBLB has been so quiet since Sept 29, except for generic type press releases. And why can’t he release details of commercialization type deals underway, and said is that because you only want to release it when it is finalized?

Answer..…Plan is to wait until announced. At the end of the day you track a month later how come that deal never closed ? Never want to be put into that position. When announced then its solid. The deals can be damaged by announcing before i's dotted and t's crossed. Just being quiet. In the past when Kraig Labs is quiet it is always because something was going on, we had to stay quiet about it, I anticipate we will use the same moving forward when needed we will be. Sometimes what we do a new discovery and we don’t want a competitor to know about, or a corporate deal and not let competitor to know about until rock solid. So far we have had a great track record, information not released, its kept quiet until ready to release information to full public. So far fortunate that details from the lab haven’t been leaked.

I asked why he hasn’t released the technical data on the silk thread

Answer…….Umm couple reasons, for competitive reasons I don’t want it in the hands of competitors, that it is only shared with on confidential basis, umm tried avoiding public disclosures, we don’t to give competitors a heads up about how we accomplished this, any information we give helps. Publication doing inside university labs as part of the parameters it is allowing scientists to publish on what was accomplished, The University Of Notre Dame provides for that specifically, scientists peer review published in a scientific journal will be later in 2011. The Requirements are that the paper has to contain new information not released to the public. They won’t publish if the journal don’t consider it newsworthy. Scientists requested not to release the data. They have rights by contract with the company, in the short run I don’t like idea of publishing, I like to keep quiet, also on the other hand publishing does benefit the company by giving a wider audience and quells doubts.

I asked do the further generations of the specific transgenic pass down its traits, as in levels of spider protein.....

Answer………The Short answer is yes. Once the transgenic organism is producing silk its’ off spring will bear those exact traits and some will not. What we do in next generation is weed out those who don’t bear the traits, and eventually a pure strain exists. Its’ called homozygocity all same for trait, it takes a number of screenings to achieve this.
