The project is nothing if not ambitious. Verizon says it is ready to roll nationwide and can absorb as many electronic medical records (EMR) as are currently out there; there may eventually be one for every person in the United States. It may even offer personal health records (PHR) to its telco customers. Early adopters of Verizon's HIE say it is a good way to address the most severe handicap of the medical industry.

Who will Verizon sign their PHR deal with?

We are finally on our way back to Los Angeles. We started in New York with our friends Conley and Nancy Smith (Conley's a big shot marketing exec with Verizon). We celebrated their anniversery while I continued nudging him on why Verizon needs and MMR needs a Physician Emergency Log In on every phone. Then Chicago (Alexian) then San Antonio (Kodak). Next week Phoenix, back to New York (again), Atlanta (for HIMSS), Washinton DC, India, China and South Africa. MMR is keeping us very busy. Kira always waves as we fly by.

By tomorrow I should be back to “Type A” mode as I spend the next 24 hours with Kodak resellers, Chartis executives and planned new business opportunities at Verizon Wireless. Recognizing the importance of bringing MMR to the wireless handset is something the Company has focused on over the past year. Because our delivery system relies on telecommunications, the Company will continue to actively seek the right telecommunications partners.

MMR has been supporting The Latino Coalition for three years and in addition to Kodak shared sponsorship at this year's event with American Airlines, AT&T, HP, Intuit, MasterCard, Pfizer, Verizon and others to support Latino entrepreneurs seeking expanded business opportunities through contracts with the Federal Government and Fortune 500 companies.
