OTC Report Calls Post's Byron 'Ignorant,' Not Once But Ten Times
http://www.investors.com/breakingnews.asp?journalid=23508536&brk=1

Oct 14, 2004 (financialwire.net via COMTEX) -- (FinancialWire) Once wasn't enough for OTC Report magnate C.P. Barry to chastise Christopher Byron of News Corp.'s (NWS) New York Post for his coverage of the service's touts of CDC Systems (CPYJ) Wednesday.

OTC Report vehemently called Byron "ignorant" not once but ten separate times, using ten separate stories, beginning at 6:33 a.m. and finally ending at 3:17 p.m., obviously designed to increase its ticker spam to upwards of 30 companies, thoroughly overloading and some would say, abusing, MarketWire and its Comtex News (CMTX) distributor.

By 5:06 p.m., the company itself chimed in:

"CDC Systems is aware of the accusations Christopher Byron has presented over the past few days, and is in the process of drafting a response for each and every accusation. CDC Systems is drafting this response in accordance with counsel and will release its full response tomorrow.

"It is unfortunate Christopher Byron chose the public forum to raise questions instead of directly interviewing the Company. CDC Systems stands behind its press releases and product and if Christopher Byron would like to further investigate the Company and circulate an informed article, CDC Systems will accommodate."

Neither OTC Report nor CDC Systems explained how OTC Report could profit on the $495 it claimed it was paid "for this report," or who the "Third Party" that paid it is, or the relationship of that "Third Party" as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has told FinancialWire is required by its Regulation 17(b).

The OTC Report claimed that the article in the NY Post was inaccurate, and seemed particularly upset about "Byron's comments linking Patrick Arnett and CDC Systems," noting that "Patrick Arnett only assists the company in the construction and release of the company's press releases and is the contact person for questions relating to the company's stock, nothing more."

Byron had said that "the current star performer in Arnett's pink sheets constellation goes by the name of CDC Systems, Inc. The company's only known address consists of a P.O. box in Bloomfield, New Mexico. New Mexico state corporate records show that CDC Systems began doing business in New Mexico in August of this year.

"The very first of the releases, dated Sept. 24, stated that CDC Systems was in the business of developing compressors for the natural gas industry, which has reached the boiling point because of soaring energy prices worldwide, and said that the company's newest compressor - the so-called S1 - was now available to the public.

"Nonetheless, subsequent releases portrayed CDC as gearing up to fill the large-scale orders for compressors that were beginning to pour in - and not just for the so-called S1 compressor but for a separate model, referred to the M1, as well. According to the releases, CDC's new clients even included a New York Stock Exchange company with '$8 billion' in revenues."

Byron said that Arnett is linked to ten Texas-based companies that represent equity stakes in "seemingly worthless shell companies that were all set up as public vehicles this year (and) are trading at a combined market value of more than $1.3 billion on the so-called pink sheets market."

Byron said that recently "press releases began pouring forth from a stock promotion Web site called Stockcomm.com. Most of the site's links are nonfunctioning, and none of those that do work identify any named individuals as being associated with Stockcomm."

Byron noted that "CDC declined to name its Big Board sugar daddy - and one of the companies that it has cited by name in a release now says it hasn't agreed to buy any compressors at all, while two other companies named in the releases turn out to be affiliated entities that share a common top manager."

He listed four other companies promoted through the same tout machine: Auction Mills (AUMI), Concorde America (CNDD), Pediatric Prosthetics (PDPR), Vanquish Productions (VQPI), and OPUS Communities (OPUC).
