.<font color=green> ATTENTION multi monitor users

Ever had so many Java apps open that they freeze up or they just stop opening? I found out that Java by default only uses 64megs of your computers memory so if you have alot of Java applets open ie: alphatrade L2 windows, charts, portfolios, equityfeed apps, etc you probably ran into problems, thats because you actually run out of memory...

The fix? Increase memory settings in Java.

1. Right click on the Java icon and select open control panel.

2. Select the Java tab at the top

3. Under Java Applet Runtime Settings hit the view button

4. You will see a box as shown below. Go to the latest update version row. The box below shows 3 updates, 1.6.0_05 being the latest. Under the Java Runtime Parameters column, last row, double click the empty space, that should bring up your cursor so you can type. Type in -Xmx128m as shown below. Click OK then apply, thats it. You just raise your memory from 64m to 128m and you should have no problems. If you do, you can undo what you did to get the default settings. NOTE: You need to do this when Java has a version update. You will see a new row in the box below, just type the code into the new version update. If you don't, the new version will be be set at 64megs by default. Java only updates a few times a year if that so no biggy..

Hope this helps, it sure helped me!
