Coffeyville Resources Wins Industry of the Year Award From the Coffeyville Chamber of Commerce


SUGAR LAND, Texas, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CVR Energy, Inc. (NYSE: CVI) today announced that the Coffeyville Chamber of Commerce awarded one of CVR Energy's subsidiary companies, Coffeyville Resources, LLC, the 2007 Industry of the Year Award at the chamber's annual dinner and centennial celebration in Coffeyville, Kan. The award is given to an area business for its overall business growth, community involvement and corporate philanthropy.

"We are honored to be recognized for our contributions to the Coffeyville community," said Jack Lipinski, chief executive officer. "Giving back to the communities where we live and work is an important part of our business practices."

This is the second year that the Coffeyville Chamber of Commerce has given the award, said Lisa Kuehn, executive director of the chamber. Companies were nominated by chamber members, and a panel of judges on the chamber's public relations committee reviewed the nominations and voted on the winner.

"It is our way of saluting those companies who go above and beyond for our community," Kuehn said. "Coffeyville Resources was chosen as the Industry of the Year not only for their economic and philanthropic contributions to Coffeyville, but also for their commitment to the community as it recovers from last summer's record flooding of the Verdigris River."
