Data -- with all respect for your and Mel's absolute rights respectively to have your own self-chosen and self-defined beliefs -- Mel's frankly self-indulgent orgy of fundamentalist agitprop, however well done, is just a movie (and not even a credible one at that, as the brutal flogging depicted would by itself have killed Jesus before he ever got to the point of carrying, let alone then being nailed to, the cross) -- Mel's flick does not 'prove' anything, any more than does that book 'created' by men and compiled hundreds of years after Jesus's death called the Bible (to which Mel's flick evidently may not be entirely 'faithful' in any event) -- and accordingly, contrary to your assertion, Mel's flick most certainly does not give me or any other of the 'unchurched' anything "to really think about"

of course it's fine Mel made his flick, and of course it's fine if you share Mel's sort of beliefs and were moved by his flick; I do not begrudge any of that -- but you need to get a grip if you think Mel's flick either does or ought to change a thing for those like me who do not accept the premise of, or otherwise share in, such beliefs
