f6 actually you are wrong the new testament was written between 40 and 70 years after the death of Jesus, you are wrong about another thing, yes in the bible it does not go into detail about the brutality of crucifixion, but historians who studied the act of crucifixion by the Romans have learned that the flogging did happen, in fact the tips of those things were metal and they pierced the skin, it was a brutal death, whether you believe in Jesus is one thing, but he is a historical figure who was crucified and crucifixion was that brutal
and the Romans were scared that Jesus could start a revolution, also many followers wanted him to start a religion and he refused, so if he was someone out for power don't you think he would have tried to be the leader of that religion
So why did he have so many devoted followers, why were the Jewish priestesses and Romans scared of him, could it have been because he actually did create miracles
That is the million dollar question, if you have faith you believe that was the reason, but whether you believe that or not, it is a historical fact that they were scared of Jesus and killed him, you can't deny that
