It's historical cost less depression. But no large investor is using that number. Certainly they had appraisers visit each major parcel to give it a fair current appraisal.

5-10 years ago they probably figured many Sears units could be sold to Penneys and department stores like Macy's. Now many parcels have NEGATIVE value. Even boarded up, there are expenses... like RE taxes.

Love when they always mention converting stores into call centers. Hope we don't have a future where half our population works phoning the other half!
