Timing is something none of us can claim to be overridingly easy to conquer in any sense as there don't seem to be an true Masters of Timing.

When DK announced their plans I decided to retain half of my units in ALDW but underlying the decision was the fact that I just didn't have any way of seeing the future. The only thing I did see was increasing valuation-compression and that told me DK was about to make a strong move to the upside. That pushed me to take a position pronto.

And now I'm seeing ALDW and DK are up strongly. I've been teaching all morning and unable to take today's trading into account until this moment.

I got lucky on ALDW and DK at a crucial time---I was struggling with my shattered dream based on ALDW. That forced me to look deeply into DK, not as the acquiring company but as whatever it might appear to be following the great swallow.

I know well DK's determination to NOT hand out fancy yield money but, instead, reserve it to strengthen the balance sheet and---especially (my opinion only) to expand on the company's footprint via additional acquisitions. It is this corporate resolve that gives me confidence, bringing me to be less rambunctious when it comes to liquidating even part of my eventual holdings following the swallow.

It brings me back to timing and when I'm not sure whether the egg will be first or the chicken, I know I have to roost her.

Cluck, cluck that I am!
