"Such a good idea"
It never was a good idea. Literally hundreds of millions of dollars were spent by companies and U.S. National Labs beginning decades ago to show just how unfeasible small-scale VAWT was. Especially their original Savonius design. Their first design was just a plastic piece of yard-art intended to take advantage of a California rebate program. The program was changed to not allow these cheap units and that ended the Sauer business model. They kept selling just enough shares to pay their salaries and transitioned the hype to a Darrieus design VAWT.
Google Paul Gipe and read the truth about VAWTS. Also look up The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to see what their research has found.
I hate to keep harping on the same subject, but how can anyone believe a husband and wife team with no engineering experience or experience managing a public company with no free cash can come up with a feasible VAWT design when REAL research encompassing hundreds of millions of dollars invested has proven it simply isn't possible.
At some point you have to do a minimal amount of research and understand you have been conned.
