Chk behaves like a dog because it is fundamentally a dog. For a rundown on specifics, there is a large number of articles examining not just the good, but also the bad and the ugly in chk. For a much more concise answer, one need only look at the performance when earnings was released.

Not true at all; actually, the opposite is true. The longer term the forecast, the better scientists are at predicting it. Much information is available on this with supporting evidence. A brilliant attempt at explaining this to laypeople was made, but the attempt failed. It can be found here:


The scientific forecast calls for warmer weather in the south and east, possibly cooler in thee West. The thing is, the West uses less natural gas than in the south and east. Of course the NWS forecast is not guaranteed; it relies on probabilities and statistics and being scientists the NWS makes efforts to emphasize the uncertainties. Something the Old Farmer's Almanac would never do, no matter how often they are wrong with their secret formula.
