es1 - You don't have to be a listed NASDAQ company to advertise on NASDAQ's Times Square electronic billboards. Any company or event will do if you're willing to spend the money for exposure.

My guess is Bolt Threads aspires to be public on NASDAQ some day and they probably "piggybacked" on the recent Modern Fashion event that got a lot of NYC publicity with Ms. McCarthy.

Or - this could also be photoshopped/fake news. But the obvious implication of deception is there for the uninformed on Bolt Threads status.
