It really shouldn't make all that much difference in the case of AMZA. Nobody buys it as anything but the distributions. It hardly would make sense in any portfolio seeking capital appreciation as it moves no more than is predicated by its constituent pieces.

Ordinarily, investors seek both appreciation plus dividends and distributions along the way. This is not a proper vehicle for such pursuits. Fretting over loss of seed capital has no place here unless the investor didn't realize the exposure to loss of seed earlier on.

I got caught in this same modality, myself. I've since moved on to only individual stocks rather than a mutual fund sort of holding such as this. However, when I'm ready to sit back and slip more into a passive mode, AMZA will unquestionably be my first choice as it tends to do really well in its space.
