Bigworld, The timing of all this, coinciding as it does with the looming N. Korea crisis, is probably just a coincidence. But being ever the conspiracy theorist, it makes you wonder. For years my dad said that the N. Korean situation could culminate in an EMP attack on the US. He was an engineer in the US spy satellite and other covert programs. He never said that it would be planned that way, only that it was a real possibility.

We know the NWO globalist plan is to eventually pull the plug on the US and make it just another weak micro/mini state ruled over by an unchallenged world government. I always assumed that they couldn't pull the plug on the US until after all major rivals to the NWO (Russia, China, Moslem world) were neutralized and brought to heel.

However, what if everyone is to go down at once? In that case they wouldn't need to postpone the US collapse, it could happen simultaneously with every other country. The only power that would emerge unscathed would be the IMF and their SDRs, with or without gold backing. The NWO crowd would end up controlling and funding the 'former' US military, Navy, and Air Force, which will be their NWO police force. They'll have no need for the US otherwise. They view a prosperous middle class as threat anyway, something to eventually be eliminated. They could do it all in one fell swoop - neutralize Russia, China and the US.

I was hoping the collapse would occur after we're long gone, but we may not be so lucky. So more reason to buy physical gold and silver. If there's a meltdown and freeze of the financial system (the 'Ice 9' scenario), Rickards says the stock exchanges will all have to be closed (along with the banks, mutual funds, etc) probably for months or even longer. That would put at risk the strategy of mining stocks or short/put options. So physical hard assets is the safer way to go, held in non-bank storage as Rickards recommends.
