Bigworld, It looks like the little Korean Nero is a bonafide nut case. We've gotten so used to the Deep State always being the scheming and devious protagonist, but sometimes world events actually do spin out of control.

Trump wasn't the most stable person before, and after months of being attacked and vilified from every direction, he's ready to lash out. So a potentially disastrous confluence of events and personalities.

The US has benefited from the North Korean menace for decades. We originally gave North Korea their nuclear power plants back in the early 1990s, because after the demise of the Soviet Union, the US was in desperate need of a new enemy in the region to keep US allies needing the US and US military bases for protection. Then later, every time Japan would start gravitating toward closer relations with China, North Korea would lob a missile into the Sea of Japan, and the Japanese would come scurrying back to the US. It was almost like the North Korean leader was working for the CIA.

Building up an 'enemy' for strategic reasons is nothing new. For example the British backed the rise of Hitler because they thought he would attack Stalin, and the British Empire could thus mortally weaken it's two main rivals in Europe. But as with North Korea, things can backfire.

Who knows, maybe the Deep State realize they have to do something about North Korea soon anyway, so they'll let the impulsive Trump do it and get the blame. Crazy times..
