2012 is when the OOB/MFA regulation went into effect, as referenced and explained in detail here, with links to actual regs.

With your claim that MFA was a Standard in 2001.

it was, MULTIFACTOR AUTHENTICATION as fully detailed with links to all 3 sets of regulations the 2001, 2005, and 2012

ALL 3 versions of regs linked here for anyone wanting real DD

Please do not twist it around and now Claim 2012.

Never Did, Multifactor auth is different that OOB/MFA, OOB/MFA was 2012 regs.

the use of out-of-band verification

2012 OOB/MFA regulations

SEE

Lets recap,

2001 FFIEC MFA regulations (that means, multifactor, but not OOB MFA)

2005 Updated regs

2012 updated FFIEC regs required OOB/MFA

1. FFIEC does in fact set the standards (SFOR fins that are linked acknowledge this FACT.

2. in 2001 FFIEC implemented MFA (multifactor authentication) standards

3. in 2012 FFIEC Implemented OOB/MFA standards

4. There are many forms of MFA and OOB/MFA (you even quoted this yourself)

I showed you Proof that even in 2006 that the FFEIC did not Require MFA to be required in their "Guidance". Just more than a Single factor was Required. It's Highlighted in Red Below.

if someone uses more than single factor authentication, THATS MULTIFCATOR AUTHENTICATION!

GOOGLE IT, IT literally IS THE DEFINITION OF MFA

Multifactor authentication (MFA) is a security system that requires more than one method of authentication
