Law360, Los Angeles (March 14, 2017, 8:59 PM EDT) -- Six months after a California federal jury found that cybersecurity firm Sophos infringed Finjan’s patents and awarded $15 million in damages, the judge overseeing the case on Tuesday denied Sophos' motion for a new trial but also Finjan's motion for attorneys' fees, saying it wasn’t an exceptional case.
Finjan Inc. sued Sophos Inc. in March 2014, accusing the rival company of infringing its malware security software. Following a two-week trial, a jury found that Sophos infringed all five of Finjan’s asserted patents.
