Mutations as a rule are accidental and almost never occur. Insertions as jazz calls them are deliberate, or by design. I believe information had to be replaced. Not sure if MS was made with silkworms with information removed and replaced. If they did knockouts, then I am not aware. Worms with the knockouts and better receptive of edits were made later.

If there were mutations that would be bad for our investment.
