Here's the science report that explains why winter did not start until December 2016 and why winter will extend through April 2018. In other words, winter 2016 - 2017 is just now starting and will continue the full season ending on May 1st 2017 when spring starts.

Current storage withdrawal estimates are wrong because they started counting on November 1st, but winter did not arrive until December 1st and spring 2017 will arrive 30 days late. On top of this, this appears to be a winter similar to 2013 - 2014! Natgas total consumption including exports should exceed all time records of 30 million Cubic Feet in 2016 - 2017! Price should touch $5 and spike to $10

CHK will hit $12 by April Fool's Day 2017! The reason is simply. One good seasons will allow them to show a strong profit and prove to investors that they can indeed to a great job!

What the science is saying is that the melting of the arctic sea ice due to the long severe El Nino caused a weakening of the upper polar vortex. Or, was it the other way around? They don't know yet exacting which came first, the chicken or the egg.

Extreme cold now in the arctic is expected to return the ice over the next few seasons and return things to normal. Lots of room for error but it was approved and published by Nature-- the journal for a hundred years!

This phenomenon will also delayed the arrival of winter in the US and caused England, Europe, and Russia to get much colder. But winter will not be shorten since spring will also be delayed.
