My earlier bid was at $8.51 and 200 of the 500 units I'd bid on were delivered to my account. When I realized that I'd be a fool to NOT add units because of a mere $55, I decided to remain a fool no more. I jumped.
And looking anew, I find the original 500 unit package did come through at $8.51. And I just paid $8.66 for 500 units in the wife's IRA. So it's now looking like this:
Total units held: 13,500
Cost basis: 9.34 (plus a fraction)
This has me underwater to the tune of $8,500. I doubt this sizable loss will hold for long.
I'm really hoping others here are buoyed as am I. This is one of those moments where we discovered opportunity and determined to stay the course despite all the gloom littering the path.
So, premature as it might seem, I say it's time for a toast.
