I don't believe it matters if he knows everybody in the industry or he knows nobody in the industry. Who did Steve Jobs or Bill Gates know before they had something that everybody wanted? The only thing that matters is what is happening in the lab.

If we can do everything that's needed in the lab and have working prototypes, then Elmer Fudd could be our CEO and we all would be as rich as if our current highly esteemed management group leads the way.

As a previous email succinctly noted there are no secrets, when there is world changing science or technology that everybody has been trying for decades etc. etc. they will know. We have nothing until we have everything.
