A sad, sad story. I have a neighbor named Kim. A sweet lady. yesterday at 8:52 AM she made this post on Facebook.
I don't know who Susan is.
After some chatter with friends, at 10:58 AM, she posted.
"OK, that's it for me. It's nap time."
At about noon another neighbor saw Kim's husband drive up to his house. He heard:
"Len! Len! Call an ambulance! Kim's blown her head off"!
After her 10:58 post she apparently went out to her front yard, sat in her lawn chair and shot herself with a .270 rifle.
I didn't know Kim well even though we'd been 4 house away neighbors for 6 years.. I walk a lot and when Kim would pass me she'd run down her window and shout Hi David"! It always gave me a lift. She walked her dog a lot and when she would pass by our house, we'd chat for a while.
This morning after I got the sad news, I walked past her house and was looking at her front yard, when I heard her poor little dog barking. My heart dropped.
We had thunder showers today and had a spectacular sundown. Kim had the same view from her front yard as we do. It's across a lake. The sky turned a pale yellow. I don't remember seeing such a sunset before.
My wife and I were sitting on the deck watching the sunset. She said "I wish Kim could see this." So did I. I hope Kim has escaped her demons---what ever they were.
