I understand you're point, you want to use a regular small contact case, but without knowing what's involved here this is really a silly conversation. Maybe the epgl case is intended to sit on a dock and can easily be removed and transported in a case only fractions larger than a current contact case.

Either way you'll need either:

A: A smart lens case

or

B: A smart lens pad, clamshell, contraption to work with current cases

I don't think people buying smart contact lenses will be pissed off if they have to keep there lenses in custom case that provides functionality.

Also I'm not quite sure your idea is "better", there's no way to tell until you and EPGL compare your final working products.
