this seems interesting. However, How do you get 35k annual dividend on 1000 shares when each year there is 4 payouts of about .85 each. That is about $3.5k per year. Also, if you would have bought 1000 shares at the high around $55 as you mentioned - when the PPS hit the low of $21 - in those five years that would have been a loss of $34k in stock value- plus the payout of $17.5k in dividends. For a total loss $16.5k. Even though it didn't work out - according to my calculations- as you presented it- buying low and selling high, plus the quarterly dividends seems like a good play.
