In this case, I'm not sure it changes my response. VDK costs were booked as capital. The abandonment of VDK and the dismissal of litigation means a write down of all costs previously described as on account of capital, with costs now pure expense. (I think I've previously expressed some surprise here).
But as I say, you may be right, and Tmmi spent 3/4 of a million dollars advancing a claim only to pull the plug before trial. If they did so they paid too much, and were charged too much.
