I see Rick's group existing as both aggressors and settlers depending on the situation. It's a cruel world out there and I believe for the most part that they want to be part of a community that works towards the greater good of all.

Think about their time at the prison. Began farming getting comfortable. Then had to fend off the governor and his crowd.

Then the trek to Terminus looking for safety ,,, that didn't work out well for them.

Alexandria seemed to give them reason the be a part of a society again but then the Wolves came to visit.

Hilltop offered a means to barter for food but what Rick's crew had to offer was something the folks at Hilltop were unable to provide for themselves.

Now we have Negan and the Saviors completely in control of all groups and not appearing to be the type that wants to do for themselves but to offer non violence in exchange for goods.

It'll be interesting to see what the horse people have to offer and to what side of the fence they lean .. Maybe both?

Let's hope Carol's pause to reflect doesn't hinder her future ability to defend herself or others. Also let's hope that Morgan has sense enough to realize that, although it's nice to think they there's good in everyone and that they can be convinced to come back from the dark side, there's just some evil in the world that can't be turned off or turned around.
