Compost is never ending and takes time.

When I fill up a new raised bed, I layer it with branches, wood chips, garden debris, chopped straw or regular straw and then a layer of compost. Everything that is below the compost will rot and more compost must be added the following year or years. It creates a fantastic growing area.
