Up to 60 houses could have been lost in the fires that have swept through the popular Surf Coast holiday towns of Wye River and Separation Creek.
Fifty-three houses were confirmed lost at 10pm Friday night, but CFA deputy incident controller Mark Gunnings said more
property losses were possible as firefighters fought a 1700-hectare bushfire raging out of control in the Otways.
