This is certainly a reasonable response, imo. It follows what I've been thinking---there are numerous items to be cleared up before there can be greater visibility. Tullow is cutting way back in capex, isn't it by two thirds or so? That is enormous for such a company. And if it's truly the situation, then it would tell me that Tullow is more than mildly concerned about oil's being in the dumps for now---and for the near-to-mid term, too.

However, even the largest of oil finders must maintain some modicum of exploratory work, regardless of some other considerations. Otherwise they risk finding themselves unable to climb out of a well when current supply runs dry.
