Thankfully Republican Gov. Haley of South Carolina stood strongly and led the move for the confederate flag to be removed from the statehouse which has stood there since 1962 when the flag was first raised over the statehouse by Democrat Ernest "Fritz" Hollings who was governor and later a senator.
