No reflection on yourself, Jssdmm, for your very informative posting but maybe it would be best if modern Sophists didn't do physics just as one might have questioned what business an atheist had doing theology.

I did a superficial search on the New Yorker article author and was surprised to find a lady who was very far from totally devoid of a science background.

That makes even more incomprehensible the dismissal of Niels Bohr in particular. Bohr made significant contributions to quantum theory.
