its Memorial Day...not Veterens Day
Where does it state that one can't give a shout out to veterans on Memorial Day?
They're allowed to enjoy the holiday, as it is more than earned.
After all:
Memorial Day was originally created as a day of remembrance for those that were killed while fighting in the Civil War. Today, however, the holiday is used as a day to honor all Americans that have died while serving our country.

Many Veterans take this holiday seriously, as they have survived, where many were
not as fortunate in the battlefields respectively.
