OREX—I tweeted yesterday that the MACE risk reduction observed in the LIGHT study was probably a false positive insofar as there is no MoA support for such a benefit and the study was not intended to demonstrate such a benefit (making the finding of a MACE benefit technically post hoc).

Some people on Twitter thought I was nuts given the low reported p-value, but these people evidently don’t understand base-rate fallacy (a/k/a false-positive fallacy).
