Not NC law, but federal law prevents transport

The reason that raw, unprocessed hemp can't be imported into NC is because of U.S. law, the Controlled Substance Act, passed in 1970.

Passing the laws that have been introduced in Congress in January, 2015 would remove these restrictions.

Also, if North Carolina passed a law allowing hemp farming, then HEMP could theoretically process the locally-grown hemp.
